KOF 94 to 98, KING OF FIGHTEEEERRRRRRSS, ahem, need no explanation
Blazing stars is as arcade as you can get for a shmup, huge fire power and looks great

I'd love to fix it, but it is water damage. I've been thinking on getting another one for a while now and I think the unibios should be fine to swap out. I guess I haven't had time, but you know what? I've got a week off in December and i'll put this on my list.

If you got Sometime and want a fun project, Buy a MVS 1 Slot Board, it requires a little bit of work to get that bios out (soldered Not Socket)and an old PSU thus giving you a Consolized well their is a little more than that you need a video converter for the RGB arcade to VGA one is only ~25-30$ thankfully it already has controller ports so the regular neo geos controllers work. anyway moral of the story have a MVS that plays on TV like the AES, But your games cost 90% less Metal slug X MVS 30$ or cheaper AES 1g easy
an example

I personaly Built a super gun as i have a bit of other arcade hardware Supergun is kinda like that idea but you just plug any jamma board and it should make it work on a tv Iv only had issues on a soul edge board with mine.

Holy shite, I've checked out the MVS conversion you mention and getting a single slot board is cheap. I already have about 6 AES carts though, but i scould replace these with MVS carts at a fraction of the cost. I think this is a good project, thanks

Yea If you like neo geos it is well worth it single slots are 40-70$ its when you get into the bigger boards they tend to sell for more

So you have the option to build the super gun plug in play for all jamma
or a Consolized MVS that looks sexy like the ones in the video

if You run your video output on VGA the RGB to Vga conveter is only 33$ shipped http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-ARCADE-GAME-CONVERTER-CGA-RGB-YUV-EGA-VGA-GBS-8220-Promotion-/250899701935?pt=PCC_Video_TV_Cards&hash=item3a6ac9a0af

if you want to run to component, Composite / S video its going to run 81$ for the Jrok Rgb to ntsc encorder http://www.gatorcade.com/rgbconverter.html

An issue with some tvs makes the tv try and set the sync rate for vga, so you might have to use the Jrok, but if the tv has a pc mode the rgb to vga encorder might do the job.

also One of the other great features of the MVS is muit carts, yea they are pricey for piracy but the rom chips are expensive, but they allow you to try out the real game on real hardware before you buy it.
IE http://www.jammaboards.com/store/161-in-1-neogeo-multigame-cartridge/prod_332.html

EDIT forgot to mention If you go with the super gun and take it to the extreme, by hard wiring your own controls you can also buy Arcade PCBS outside of the neo, like double dragon, capcom vs street figher ect, my little secret is i often buy the under 30$ when labled " not working" and try and fix them up. Mostly its Capacitor, broken traces and loss of contacts on Rom chips the exception is capcoms CPS1-3 Line the boards commit "susicide" so to speak. when the suicide battery dies so outside of those is where I tend to buy. that is when i am feeling like getting raped on ebay.

Ok, I've located a couple of mv-1f's, also a mv-2 and 2f. I might get this project done before I have a break by the looks of things. So i think i'd want the boards with joystick ports since I prefer the NG pads to the stick. That doesn't sound right for the KOF series, but I prefer that. I probably haven't done enough research yet, sorry if I sound lazy but would memory card support or some form of a memory board be important?

the memory carts only let you save the stages you where on, and it would be an additional attachment, but their is one if you want memory cart support, but again it is not required also you should try http://www.hardmvs.com/html/PCBcompare.htm to see if the Motherbord supports the memory card attachment

Fighting:

Samurai Shodown 5 Special

Beat Em Up:

Sengoku 3

Sports:

Neo Drift Out

There's others but that's the main three in their respected genre.

Ok, going for consolized MVS and have everything I need (maybe a little more), Damn theres some sexy consolized NG around the retro scene. I think the fun part is going to be getting a decent case. Folded aluminium or maybe cut out a retro console, I think the Neo Geo case would be too small.

For sure, my favourite is Samurai Showdown 2. I have it on Noegeo pocket too, i'm sick of this series :p
