THE FOLLOWING TUTORIAL RE-PRINTED WITH ORIGINAL AUTHOR's PERMISSION from RootedSystem

Fixed by master737373 and the PS3DevWiki

THIS IS VERY CRUDE. UNTIL IT GETS FIXED, DON’T TRY THIS UNLESS YOU CAN FILL IN THE WHOLES. This probably will be updated soon. Soon is no time this week.

In this tutorial I will go over the steps needed to downgrade any PS3.

Before beginning this tutorial you will need to have installed ProgSkeet to your PS3. This requires dissembling your PS3 and some soldering work. If you do not want to void your PS3′s warranty you have two options. 1. Buy a second PS3 for homebrew 2. Wait for an exploit and don’t update to any new firmware.

Requirements
• PS3 Phat or PS3 Slim. This guide is for 3.70
• ProgSkeet installed for both Nand and Nor consoles
• FlowRebuilder (The latest one is on the ps3devwiki Hardware Flashing page)
• Windows: Winskeet (WinSkeet40000_111004 or older for libusb) (Winskeet111120 and newer, use winusb with the zadig.exe)
• Mac: iSkeet
• Downgrade.bin (nor)
• Automated Hex (Made by psicoleo & uf6667)
1. Load either winskeet or iSkeet, depending on your operating system. Go to the respective tab that you’re dumping and use the following settings to dump. (From the ps3devwiki) (The first picture is for Nor. The second one is for Nand) 19051906 Actual dump size doesn’t matter. You need to verify your dumps with FlowRebuilder. Just because you have the same size dumps or they're EXACTLY 16,777,216 bytes does not mean you have a valid dump. You can still have a corrupted dump.
2. On your flasher software, once you put all the block pages and size, click auto at the bottom of the flasher software.
3. Click dump, and select your dump destination. Nor systems should take 16 seconds. Nands should take around 130 seconds per nand. MAKE MANY DUMPS. THIS CAN’T BE STRESSED ENOUGH!!!!!!!
4. For nand consoles, don’t change which nand is nand0 and nand1 unless you know which one is which. If you change it, that nand must get it’s new nand file after everything is done. So leave nand0 nand0 and nand1 nand1.
5. Also for nand consoles, load FlowRebuilder, unscramble and interleave your 2 nand dumps to get one large dump.bin.
6. Byte reverse and extract you dump in flowrebuilder and make sure these files are there. (FlowRebuilder will not tell you otherwise) 1907
7. Patch your dump (which contains coreos files) to whichever firmware you’re going to. Many informative turotials on that online, I don’t have much time to explain right now.

STEPS 1-4 ARE FOR NOT CONSOLES for the most part.

1. Now open up Flow Rebuilder and select “Byte reverse and extract a NOR Dump” from the drop down and drag your dump to the “Select the input Dump File”. Click execute and it will build a new volume (bin.REV).

2. Next open up Transplante, in “donador” select your nor-dump.bin.REV and for “receptor” select downgrade.bin and click go.

3. Now that your downgrade.bin should is successfully hexed open Flow Rebuilder back up. Select “Byte reverse and extract a NOR Dump” and drag downgrade.bin to the bottom option and click execute.

4. Once flashed turn on your console but don’t press anything! Shutoff the console, we’ll need to put it into factory service mode.
5. Download lv2diag and cfw put these onto a usb drive and plug them into the far right usb port.
6. Turn on the console, it should shutoff within 10-15 minutes. Once the flashing is complete and the console is off; remove the usb and turn it back on. You should now see the xmb. Shutoff your ps3 once again. Download lv2diag FILE2 and put it overwrite the old one your usb.
7. Put the usb drive back into your ps3 and turn it on again. This time it will turn on for 20sec and then shutoff. Your ps3 is now successfully on CFW 3.55 Kmeaw.
