What's a good T.V for gaming?? I'm in the middle of saving up for a new(second hand) T.V so wouldn't mind some advice.. Whats your guys weapon of choice? I wont be looking for a brand new set, so I'd also love to hear about any experiences with T.Vs that failed so I can be sure what to steer clear from. Cheers.

So far, I love my Toshiba 40" LCD. It's only 1080p 60Hz, but it looks good with everything so far. Including the old PS1 with composite hookup.

Personally i love my 1080p 660hz 50 inch Panasonic plasma TV, anything i put on it looks amazing. my only complaint is i didn't get the 3D model of my Panasonic Viera TV. I forgot overlord 2 running on it for going on close to 12 hours and no burned in image what so ever. I wouldn't recommend leaving a still image on the screen though even with how tough these new plasmas are(better safe than sorry).

660hz is not a typo!!

I have a 50" Samsung plasma that is great for gaming, no screen burn in, very seldom image retention, no motion blur. Also have a 32" Samsung lcd. Nice picture, but the tv is a total POS. Had the lcd panel relpaced within a year under warranty for vertical stripes on the screen. Shortly after a year, the replacement panel started to show dead or stuck pixels. Not too noticeable, but still there....about 20 of 'em. So, if you're looking for an lcd, maybe avoid Samsung!

No problems with it at all.

I'm looking for a new 40" - 50" and was contemplating getting a Samsung. Only recently got a 32" Samsung for the kitchen, been fine so far but after reading that, I don't have much hope for the future! Although my Samsung SynchMaster 206bw monitor works with everything I throw at it, not one flaw and I've had it a while now! Only downside is I've gotta run my PS3 on 720P to fit the screen right.

I'm not bothered about 3D, but I want 1080P, a decent refresh rate and billions of connections on the back. Any suggestions?

I've been using a samsung 52" 656A 100hz LCD for the last 3 to 4 years & have had no problems with it at all. 4xHDMI,pc port, component, composite, svideo + 2xscart.
Like most things, you'll always get horror stories about most makes of tv.
I'd go to your local currys/bestbuy etc & see which tv you like the look of yourself. Then go onto avforums(uk/europe) or avsforums(usa) & see if there's a know issue with the set.
These 2 sites are also great for getting settings/firmware info to get the most out of your tv.

My 42in Sharp Aquos has served me VERY well. I'd happily recommend Sharp to anyone looking for a solid TV.

i got a 65" Mitsubishi DLP :D love it!!

comes in really handy for first person shooters....but i love it for all the gaming and the price was right too :D

only paid about 1400 buckaroos for it :P

oh and the human eye only notices upto 60hz anything over that is a waste...or so they say i dunno i never really notice a difference guess it depends on the user.

This is the same package I got! Plus for $350-400 you could have 3D-TV via PS3 with there 3D Starter Set.

The only downside is having to replace the bulbs every 3 or 4 years.

LCD are good for not having to replace the bulbs, because they just keep going, and going.

My cousin got an LED recently which is very pretty to watch, but I would STAY AWAY from anything PLASMA if you game.
