As of June 29 2012, I will not be accepting anymore freebie requests for me to convert saves between the 3 platforms. This project has taken up a fair chunk of my time, time that i would like back :). Every day since February 12, i have been porting save files back and forwards between platforms at least 4 hours a day ....thats 4x30x5 = more than 600 hours.

I am more than willing to still help players verbally, in regards to there saves, so i shall contnue my email support via BAHAMUT07@LIVE.COM.AU

Also, if you really want a save converted, a Paypal donation is strongly recommended, otherwise your request will be ignored. I hate to do this to future players, but its simply time that i cannot afford to lose anymore....family....friends.....work. I can predict many issues if i continue these free conversions.

All in all, the grand total of save conversions is
7GB worth of save data.....approx 10mb each file

350 odd player names.

A friend of mine has had his 160 hour save ruined by a bug and I've been scouring the web for solutions. If there's a way to get the save over to PC to be fixed and back again that would be aces man.

There is something called testing. Maybe you haven't heard of it but it's when someone thoroughly works on something to make sure that bugs aren't present or corrupts the data. I say it's better for him to wait and release what they've done when they feel it's safe and not buggy rather than release it and have people bitch about corrupt data or it just not working. SO YOU either wait or GTFO. Even if the method works, they're still under no obligation to release what they took the time to figure out. If you're that impatient, figure it out yourself instead of bitching.

copy your PS3 Skyrim game to the internal HDD and install the TB EBOOT patch. (Note:you could play off the External HDD)
Load Skyrim using any backup manager to make sure its installed on the PS3 correctly. (Note:allow it to install data files and trophies,)
Once at the menu screen, all you will need to do is select load, choose your desired save file and then wait for the progress bar to hit 100% - load completed message. DO NOT PRESS 'O' button.
Hold the (PS) button and select "QUIT GAME".
Once back at the XMB start the file manager.
This time navigate to “dev_hdd0/game/BLUS30778CACHE/PS3_GAME/USRDIR” OR “dev_hdd0/game/BLES01329CACHE/PS3_GAME/USRDIR”
You wil notice a file named “Util.bsd”, copy the file to the memory stick and then transfer the file to a computer/laptop
Load the SKYRIM Utility tool and select "rename util.bsd -> *.ess "(this will give you the corect name for your file)
search for your file util.bsd. The file will output with the "correct name.ess" to the SKYRIM shortcut folder on your desktop(there is a dummy util.bsd file in the directory for you to try)
(Optional):Install your copy of the pc version of skyrim to your computer/laptop.
(Optional): copy your "*.ess" to “%My Documents%\My Games\Skyrim\Saves”
(Optional): load your PC copy of SKyrim and try to load “*.ess”…..(don’t do it!!! Its not worth it !!!!.....hang on….yes it is :D), ignore the warnings and just save.
(Optional): use the console in game (key ~) and fix your game :D. don’t forget to save.

Load the SKYRIM Utility Tool and select "Version change *.ess"
Find your "*.ess" file.
The tool will change the Version of your save file from any version to 7(7 is where all the magic happens) and will also rename the selected file to "quicksave.ess"
The tool will output the file to the SKYRIM shortcut folder on your desktop
copy both the new edited “quicksave.ess” and “SKYRIM - Interface.bsa” from the SKYRIM shortcut folder on your desktop to the memory stick.
load up your ps3 file manager
Navigate to SKYRIM installed on the PS3 HDD eg “dev_hdd0/GAMES/BLUS30778 - [SKYRIM US]/PS3_GAME/USRDIR/DATA” or “dev_hdd0/GAMES/BLES01329- [SKYRIM US]/PS3_GAME/USRDIR/DATA”
Overwrite the “SKYRIM – Interface.bsa” file
Navigate to “dev_hdd0/game/BLUS30778CACHE/PS3_GAME/USRDIR” or “dev_hdd0/game/ BLES01329CACHE/PS3_GAME/USRDIR”
copy over the “quicksave.ess” here
load up your SKYRIM game and load up any SKYRIM save file. (as long as it was created on the PS3 you are using, otherwise the PS3 will think you are using another consoles savefile, and hence will disable trophies and saving)
Once loaded, count to 10, then press [SQUARE] and [SELECT] together on the ps3 controller and OMG WHAT DID YOU JUST DO???? That’s right you “QUICKLOADED” your pc save to the PS3.
Now all that remains is to save the file, (DON’T try to press [SQUARE] and [SELECT] together, its annoying lol), and your done.
the only step to do now, is to restore the “SKYRIM – Interface.bsa” to default, just use the tool and repeat the previous steps. .

This looks like a solution to get a save truly migrated from PS3 to PC.. am I correct?

If so, if I send my save, can someone decrypt and send back to me so I can port my save over to PC? I'm not really interested in getting it back on to the PS3, but just want to be able to get my save over to PC to continue playing there instead. I'd be willing to send a donation/gift via PayPal for your time and help.. I don't have a True Blue dongle so I can't do this myself.

Open your "save file.ess" in a hex editor, these numbers are the very first thing you see. you cant miss them.

As of June 29 2012, I will not be accepting anymore freebie requests for me to convert saves between the 3 platforms. This project has taken up a fair chunk of my time, time that i would like back :). Every day since February 12, i have been porting save files back and forwards between platforms at least 4 hours a day ....thats 4x30x5 = more than 600 hours.

Also, if you really want a save converted, a Paypal donation is strongly recommended, otherwise your request will be ignored. If you send me a copy of your ps3 save i can easily, convert it so you can play on pc....but if you want to go back to ps3, you need CFW ps3 3.55 and a true blue dongle.

The quest that is bugged is the companions radiant quest called "Hired Muscle" (http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Hired_Muscle). You need to play the save to see whats happened.

as you can see the objective is hidden within walls that are not accessible.

so we need to fix it.....ahem cough *seifer69er cough.

First things first:
follow part 1 of the guide PART 1: PS3 to PC convert (http://www.ps3crunch.net/forum/threads/2868-SKYRIM-SAVE-FILES-decrypted-for-PS3?p=32671#post32671)
this will give you the decrypted save "util.bsd", just rename it via the {SKYRIM Save Utility} (http://www.mediafire.com/?mbhy9acuotty2) or change the file extention to .ess. this is then ready for the PC.

next:
load your save via the PC version of skyrim.
ignore the warning and save the game.(trust me)
select the quest and get to the objective.make sure you getthe full white arrow.(you know what i mean)
load up the console with ~ command.
type in:
setstage CR04 20
(we want 20 because we still want to report back to Farkas).
next save the game.(overwriting the previous save or keyboard key F5 = QuickSave :)).
exit skyrim and navigate to the save file.
rename the file to quicksave.ess if not already.

NOw:

transfer the new quicksave.ess and the new SKYRIM- INTERFACE.bsa to memory stick.

copy over the quicksave.ess to the "dev_hdd0\game\BLUS30778CACHE\PS3_GAME\USRDIR\" folder.
copy over SKYRIM- INTERFACE.bsa to the "dev_hdd0/GAMES/ BLUS30778 - [SKYRIM US]/PS3_GAME/USRDIR/DATA" folder.

load up skyrim, load your game wait for the game to settle....count to 10...
press [L1], then the game will freeze....then load...to your PC save.
now save the game.

turns out one of your characters where killed(priestess at dibela in markarth ),you NEED her so when you black out, you teleport to her. so i simply resurrected her lol. did the drinking contest and OMG teleported straight to her and ready for the quest.

also your follower was MILES!!!!!!! away, so i brought him closer for you.i just teleported him to you.

turns out one of your characters where killed(priestess at dibela in markarth ),you NEED her so when you black out, you teleport to her. so i simply resurrected her lol. did the drinking contest and OMG teleported straight to her and ready for the quest.

i wrote this little guide for you:

Turn on your ps3
navigate left or right to the game tab of the Ps3 (typically set as a default)
navigate up or down to the SAved Data Utility (PS3) and select it (X) for US and EU, (O) for Jap
plug in your USB Memory stick (FAT32 formatted), you will notice at the top USB Device has popped up
find your save and press ( Triangle )
select Copy,then select the USB device
let it finish and remove the USB memory stick
plug the USB memory stick into a PC
navigate to the Memory stick drive
navigate to \PS3\SAVEDATA
whatever is in this folder is what you should send to me or this forum

I admit i didn't try personally this method , but wondering: Is it possible to transfer the pc save to your ps3? Seriously? How do you set the user (one of the main problem i always had when a savegame is downloaded from internet) , and why this method works. Is it possible to use a similar method for every other game? Not to derail the thread, as it is Awesome work, but I've been wondering if somehow mods from the steam workshop could be converted over for the ps3... It would be such a beautiful thing :)

any bug/glitches yet? i noticed that after all this my character got his one handed skill to a red 25(like i had a disease, wich cant be because im a werwolf) but when i check the perks it says the normal value that is 77, i dont think it affects my damage, so its seems like a graphical glitch, i wonder if it will be cleared when i lvl the skill.

does this only works if you have the base Skyrim? meaning 1.0, since theres a 1.2 update patched by TB, and people have replaced the files to make it 1.5. I had to delete the updates to do this, then save with the update on, ill do some test to see at what point this glitchs occurs, another one is that when i run the modified "Interface" file on my base Skyrim, theres other graphical glitches, like invisible body, invisible heads and stuff like that, they get fixed once i boot the game on the modified 1.5 patch tho.

now on what i used this for, it was for the "white phial" quest, the retrieve part, the cauldron at the end of the dungeon couldnt be activated, no interact UI when u looked at it, it does appears on PC but nothing happens, so i just used no clip, got the white phial, and deleted the mixture. Before that i used it to raise my smithing skill from 86 to 100 because with this unofficial 1.5 patch it doesnt lvl properly anything you do gives you about 0.01%, that worked fine.

1.5 TB is not released yet, but....that is part of the SKYRIM save converter project, but i have not had the time to create the packages yet. but shouldn't be a problem.

more than likely, mods attached to the PC version cause lag and graphical glitches.

FYI: when decrypting the save file, having the save on 1.5, 1.4, 1.3, 1.2,1.1 makes absolutely zero difference. the decryption is a true representation of a 1:1 conversion of that version. (otherwise this would not work at all). when quickloading, the save is loaded into ram where it waits to be saved using the correct version for that save file. in other words: what you save and what you load will always be what you have(if that makes sense)

1.5 TB is not released yet, but....that is part of the SKYRIM save converter project, but i have not had the time to create the packages yet. but shouldn't be a problem.

more than likely, mods attached to the PC version cause lag and graphical glitches.

FYI: when decrypting the save file, having the save on 1.5, 1.4, 1.3, 1.2,1.1 makes absolutely zero difference. the decryption is a true representation of a 1:1 conversion of that version. (otherwise this would not work at all). when quickloading, the save is loaded into ram where it waits to be saved using the correct version for that save file. in other words: what you save and what you load will always be what you have(if that makes sense)

yeah i though about it being a 1:1 conversion where version didnt matters, but i still get those weird issues with invisible armors, body parts, dissapearing objects when i load the PC save on base skyrim, thats why i wanted to try this, and like you say, i dont save the game on the correct version, since i need to do the quickload on 1.0, not the 1.5 im using.

In case you didnt knew, TB released a 1.2 patch(means an eboot fix for it) so people just replaced the files from the later updates on it, only issue i got was the one i talked about smithing, and neither the save dump(util.bsd) or the quickload works on these updates.

and about the white phial bug, that time i saved on the cauldron room, and couldnt make it work, but when i tried again to see where the one handed glitch happened, i started on whiterun(on PC), fast traveled to the dungeon, got into that room, and everything worked.

PS: what version are you people playing? 1.5 OFW? 1.0 TB? 1.2 TB? 1.4/1.5 TB? share your experiences and test if everything is right with your save.

Download the SKYRIM.INI template for the region you desire
Download the PC Mods that you want to port to PS3
Extract the Files from the zip file (if needed)
Rename all the Files using Capital letters. Eg “DragonBoneWeaponsComplete.esp” to “DRAGONBONEWEAPONSCOMPLETE.ESP”
Open the SKYRIM.ini template in a text editor.
starting from “sTestFile2=” insert the name of the .ESP file (all in capitals) eg “DRAGONBONEWEAPONSCOMPLETE.ESP”
if you have a second mod, insert it at “sTestFile3=”
DO NOT insert anything at “sTestFile1=” as this is reserved for the “SKYRIM.ESM”. in other words the SKYRIM game itself 
If you have any .BSA files as one of your mod files, insert it at the end of : “sResourceArchiveList=” with a !!!comma then a space!!!
eg. sResourceArchiveList=SKYRIM - MISC.BSA, SKYRIM - SHADERS.BSA, SKYRIM - TEXTURES.BSA, SKYRIM - INTERFACE.BSA, SKYRIM - ANIMATIONS.BSA, SKYRIM - MESHES.BSA, SKYRIM - SOUNDS.BSA, DRAGONBONEWEAPONSCOMPLETE.BSA
Save the file and Exit.
Copy the SKYRIM.INI file and your PC mods to the Memory stick
Load up your PS3 and enter your File manager
Navigate to SKYRIM installed on the PS3 HDD eg “dev_hdd0/GAMES/BLUS30778 - [SKYRIM US]/PS3_GAME/USRDIR/DATA” or “dev_hdd0/GAMES/BLES01329- [SKYRIM US]/PS3_GAME/USRDIR/DATA”
Copy all the PC mods here
Now up one directory to the USRDIR folder and overwrite the SKYRIM.INI file
Exit the File manager and go play some SKYRIM. That’s it…..that simple :)


Notes:
In order for this to work, ALL MODS MUST BE IN CAPITALS LETTERS
I have chosen not to Cache any of the Game DATA as this chews up space on the PS3 HDD and it honestly makes ZERO!!! Difference….unless you play off a disc lol (which TB does not lol)
Only 9 mods at any time are supported “sTestFile2” to “sTestFile10” = 9 mod files
I do not support the mods themselves but I do support the process, in other words if there is something wrong with the mod please see the developer of that MOD, if the mod does not load you may see me first.
I have only created English EU and US templates, but can make french and spanish ones if requested

(I'm asking, I don't really know) There's lots of mods that don't use .ESP files and those aren't supported correct? Or the mod that adds roads to the map is just textures. Do I have to create a .ESP that tells the game to use those textures or something?

Also there's no mention of .esm files in the tutorial do we have to do anything special with those? I have a mod that adds/swaps monsters and it comes with a .ESP, .BSA, and .ESM.

Other mods like more ambient sounds (SOS - THE WILDS.ESP and SOS - THE DUNGEONS.ESP) I'm not really sure if they're working or not. My game still loads so that's always a plus. Oh, and the official updates work which is also fantastic.

hi, you can mod the ESM and BSA files easily using the plug ins that come with FOMM (TESnip + BSA Extractor)

however textures and sounds are in a different format
PC textures are in .DDS whereas PS3 are .DDX ( no one knows how to convert )
though you can replace all PS3 DDX with DDS, change the INI and they load but buggy :y:

Yes, I've just run into an issue where some enemies were completely invisible besides their eyes and weapons. So pretty much any mod that's not just a self contained .ESP/.BSA will have pretty severe compatibility issues.

I wouldn't mind looking into manual texture replacements but for some of the more indepth mods I'm sure that's out of the question. So, just a warning for everyone (especially that guy looking to try out the hi-res textures mod (even though that would be crazy to do on a PS3 anyway)).

if you have updates on, the "util.bsd" will not spawn, i strongly suggest removing updates from the PS3 and try again.

or if you are running mods on the game(SKYRIM.INI - template), it will spawn on the PS3 TB disc image location as "(NULL)UTIL.BSD".

Hi, many thanks for the answer, Yes actually i have The_Elder_Scrolls_V_Skyrim_UPDATE_TB_PS3-PARADOX installed.. im gona try uninstalling this and try again. Also i dont have any running mods in the game tho. ill tell what happen after i do this. Thanks again!

*UPDATE*: uninstalled the UPDATE from PARADOX and util.bsd already appears on the CACHE folder.

i have my cache turned off so mine is returned as: "(NULL)QUICKSAVE.ESS". So to answer your question...... "quicksave.ess" :)

i have tried that and have found no difference in output. the saves still act the same. (encrypted)
that was one of the very first items i looked at and found no difference :'(

First I would like to thank you for your great job, never tought we'd be able to instal all these nice mods avaible for PC on the ps3. Now, my question.
Well, I was trying to install some mods from skyrim nexus, did all the renaming and editing the ini, but when I was going to copy to the hdd0>game>blus30778>usdir it didnt have a DATA folder. I tried to create one and put the mod files there, and the ini at usdir. It didnt work, I'm not quite sure what i'm doin wrong.
Ah, one thing to bo noted, I installed the update 1.05 and had installed before the paradox update, dont know if it had something to do with the whole situation...

the following files need to be on your external HDD

usb0:\GAMES\BLUS30778 - SKYRIM\PS3 GAME\USRDIR\DATA <----mod files in here

there is no need for caching the files(as you are booting form HDD)...... so the files load from where the game is loaded, in your case: the external HDD.

try that and let us know how you go :)

(worse case scenario, remove all spaces and symbols from the file names and the SKYRIM.INI, i doubt you would need to....but the option is there)

there is no need for caching the files(as you are booting form HDD)...... so the files load from where the game is loaded, in your case: the external HDD.

try that and let us know how you go :)

(worse case scenario, remove all spaces and symbols from the file names and the SKYRIM.INI, i doubt you would need to....but the option is there)
eg.

treat the ESM file just like an ESP file
so just add to the stestfile

esm is a master file and esp is a plugin file, but virtually load the same
(you may need to group your ESM files first followed by your ESP files
ie make your ESM file stestfile2, then your esp filoes after)

Been playing around with SKYRIM mods some more and two things to report back :)

the first mod i played around with is the
SKYRIM MONSTER MOD ->http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=9694

this mod allows for over 100 creatures to be discovered in all areas of SKYRIM.
the download is a 3 file mix
-SkyMoMod.bsa
-SkyMoMod.esm
-SkyMoMod_lists.esp

the first thing to do is to change the file names and file extentions ALL to uppercase
-SKYMOMOD.BSA
-SKYMOMOD.ESM
-SKYMOMOD_LISTS.ESP

these files then get copied into your Disc directory of SKYRIMs \DATA folder.
eg.
dev_hdd0/GAMES/BLUS30778 - [SKYRIM]/PS3_GAME/USRDIR/DATA

yes you are correct; you cant do it from the UPDATE files, you NEED to do it from the disc image. so OFW users miss out......sort of......but they have the ZOMG DEREKTROTTER SKYRIM - INTERFACE.BSA (http://www.ps3crunch.net/forum/threads/3373-PS3-Skyrim-Modded-INTERFACE) SPECIAL which is 100% awesome :)

Just wanted to give Kudos to seifer for a job well done! I copied my Skyrim save from my OFW PS3 to a usb, sent the folder to him, and he managed to max all skills, max hp/mp/stam, max gold, max carry weight, put all of the best items in my inventory, including all spellbooks and a few rare materials/ingredients, and convert it back so all I had to do was put it on a USB and copy it back to the PS3, loads fine, no glitches or issues I've found so far, just amazing work :) Everyone should buy this man a beer for taking time to do these jobs for us, for free.

I found the best way to turn off the HUD is too turn the HUD opacity all the way down in the Settings->display menu
You will loose other the compass, HUD features and text but I am unsure if this is what you want :)

editing the SKYRIM.INI is the only way you can isolate the compass. the console commands are all HUD on and all HUD off.

I had started playing Skyrim on the PS3 because I can mod the pc version BUT my gfx card (GTX550 TI) is not quite up to scratch for gfx quality so missed the effects of the PS3 version. the info contained in the ps3 save is worthless to me, count it as a dummy ps3 save. I only want to have my pc char into my ps3, no tweaking necesary (i'd like to play it once cheat free :) ).

the issue with the SkyrimPrefs.ini is it will ONLY work on a CFW PS3, not on OFW PS3. the INI files live on the DISC/Image and is not read from the PS3's local directories.

when replying previously i did consider this in my reply but i completely forgot to state the reason lol.

if you have CFW then i can show you what to do otherwise im sorry you will need to wait till that gets developed further on OFW.

Im curious.. if you can add items to the game that don't normally exist using existing meshes.. is it possible to add.. say.. a house? So if I created a house using the PC toolset could that esm be added to a PS3 game save? *unsure* if the answer is yes.. then I will be making myself a cool house for the PS3! :D

Edit Oh and seifer69er thanks again for the game save you edited for me :D But.. there is a slight problem.. as all my stats are at 100.. my experience level is stuck at 7 :( I have killed 6 dragons and my experience is still at level 7.. so shops are only selling junk and no ebony found anywhere :( If I post a game save could you possibly edit it again for me please?

I placed all the items in a chest beside the skyforge, I don't know if this will transfer over to the PS3 or not.. if not then could you just place the items into my inventory.

Also could you replace my Iron Arrows with 99 Daedric Arrows. And could you give my character lots of gold and one of every spell/skill book in my inventory :)

this is since deleting game data
(NULL)QUICKSAVE.ESS is generated at the root of the game disc image when you decide to remove the cache. (i prefer this method then directory diving), it is displayed as (NULL) to signify the root directory, but the ps3 does not know any better :P
quicksave.ess is generated at the cache location when the cache is enabled.

util.bsd will not spawn if you have any updates installed. you need to remove updates and then it will spawn. once its spawned, grab it with a file manager and then just reinstall the upadtes.

save game is corrupt has only ever happened when i quicksave on the ps3 and then quickload striaght after. I had a look at this issue and it turns out the save file only partially populates and it actually generates with a header version (07). so.....try not to port a quicksave accross, instead port over a proper pc save file but rename it to (NULL)QUICKSAVE.ESS for cache disabled or quicksave.ess for cahce enabled.
to know if your cache is disabled its in the SKYRIM.INI file. if you dont see the word cache....it is therefore disabled.

and of course apply the magic 7 ;)

I didnt think the new objects would be stored in the save.
You can also do things like setscale or setrace to NPCs

when people ask you to put all weapons in their save, might aswell just drop the chest in one of the houses

you are right, new object don't store in the house, ......unless the object exist in the vanilla version of the game :).

Only downside of dropping a chest in the house, is the end user may not want it in the position i placed it (adds another reconvert) or the chest fulfills its use, so i have to delete it from the house (adds another convert). So i just add to pre existing chests/draws/dressers/cupboards etc.

I have created bat files containing all weapons/arrows/apparel/food/ingredients/books/spellbooks/keys/misc items so i dont really need to drop chests in that aspect. Just bat them in where i want them :D whether thats on the player, follower, chest, corpse or your horse :)

also have created bats for all spells/blessings/powers/shouts the "PSB" console command does cause the game to crash on some unnamed dev spells hence why i created the bats.

Hi Ive just found this epic thread and have read all 21 pages trying to understand everything. Just a few questions as some things I dont fully understand.

I dont have a CFW PS3, just a normal setup. Is it possible to have my PS3 save edited and ported back to PS3 without custom firmware? My PC is no where near powerful enough in the graphics department to run it as well as my PS3 can, otherwise I would just switch to my PC.

All I really want done is a few quests fixed, un-allocate some of my perks since I really regret certain purchases and add about an additional 10/15 available perk purchases so I can expand my character.

If this is not possible without CFW, looks like that is something I am going to have to start looking into.

A question on the side of CFW, could I have CFW on one HDD and OFW on another and swap around when I wished to play a game online? Cant really afford to buy another PS3, otherwise I would just buy a graphics card...

i just spent the last 2 nights nutting this one out :), finally cracked it

I had a quest log entry Speak to Greta about going to the Temple of Divines.

there were no quest markers and it is definately 100% locked out quest. even reseting the quest just adds a new log entry so you end up with two.

so......

Mr. Hex editor here......hex out the log entry :D

what i did was,

1. transfered my ps3 save to pc
2. loaded up my pc save
3. located my stupid quest on uesp - SolitudeFreeform03
4. console command (getstage solitudefreeform) returns 200(this is not good) then (save myfile 1) >this adds a log about the save file
5. waited for the dump ~2-3min
6. loaded up the new txt file and searched for all instances of (SolitudeFreeform03) and the quest name itself (Return to Grace )
7. kept a note of all the hex formid's to the left of all the instances
8. loaded up myfile.ess using a hex editor
9. searched for all form ids. (NOTE: must search with "SolitudeFreeform03" (0x000C7D33) becomes the bytes: 4C 7D 33
10. replaced all instances of what was found with zeros.
11. i had 6 instances of form ids so i blanked them all out
12. saved myfile.ess with the changes made
13. loaded up skyrim, loaded up myfile.ess
14. checked the log entry, it toggles but nothing happens. (this is actually a good thing, if its locked, it means its locked :) )
15. (getstage solitudefreeform) returns 0 <<<<<<<finally.
15. (setstage solitudefreeform03 20). < this actually updates the locked out quest and does not create a new entry.
16. sit back, slam the laptop shut, stick the finger up at the game and post on ps3crunch.net.


This vague guide will actually FIX ALL LOCKED OUT LOG ENTRIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

>any other log entries that are locked


the way this method works is , it actaully removes all variables associated with any particular quest. it deletes all stages and what you have said previously.

i know i am going to hate this but ........i will write a better guide than this.

I have finally created a very useful tool to help everyone clear bugged quests for themselves.

This is most useful to delete/reset any quest that is locked in the quest log.

Or....if you have any quest that you wish to play again ;)

eg. a quest has 2 endings but you chose the bad ending..



to use the tool, all you need to do is:

1. select the quest from the drop down list
2. press "fix me"
3. point to the *.ess file
4. wait for the tool to fix the file
5. load the game and the newly fixed gamesave
6. (optional) with your altered quest, open the console and setstage to the first stage ;)

I been playing Skyrim on the xbox 360 and using my pc to fix bugs and stuff, and I have a friend who plays on a ps3, he asked me to port his save to my pc so we could fix some stuff on it, but after some research I found out its not as easy as I thought, then I found this thread.
First I have to say, its amazing that you help all this people and not ask anything in return, I am truly amazed by your generosity, and I would like to ask the same favor, I wanna know if you could convert my friends ps3 save to pc, this is the link to the savegame:

The idea is, if you convert his savegame of course :), to download the converted save, do the changes he wants here on my machine, and then upload that modded save so you can convert it to ps3 again, is that possible?, I hope I'm not asking too much.

I think you mistake 1 meter for 1 mile, friend. I lost them both somewhere, and have absolutely no clue as to where they are. I remember fighting a dragon with Lydia near somebody's house (didn't have Barbas), and going to a Dwemer dungeon with Barbas (lost Lydia earlier). Then, they left me :sorrow:

the file i have given you has lydia resurrected as she was dead and barbas just seemed to have run away. i have fixed this issue and i have made them your followers in the save i had given you.

also i cannot help you port to the 360 as i need your newgame.exs file, its extremely pointless supplying me a .ess file when i need the .exs file. (ESS decrypted with no user settings) (EXS encrypted with your user settings)

when porting the save i gave you you need to rename my save to Savegame.dat, then load up your .EXS file in Modio. then copy my Savegame.dat into your .EXS file, then rehash resign, and then copy the newly edited file to your 360.

so if you want me to port to your 360, i will be doing exactly what i just said above, but i can not help you if you do not supply your .EXS file that has your settings so it would play on your 360.

hey......you just renamed the .ess as a .exs......

that will not work, you need to create a save on your 360, then copy the save file from your 360.

it will have a .exs file extention.

otherwise......i cant help you lol

the file i gave you, to do this yourself.....

1. extract it from the .rar file.
2. rename the whole file to Savegame.dat
3. use modio to look at the 360 save file
4. copy the renamed Savegame.dat and paste it over the top of the 360 save file.
5. rehash and resign

you could just download the SKYRIM update on your 360. :)
just log in to XBOX live and then load skyrim.
it will find any new updates and apply them, while keeping all your hard work intact :)

I having been trying this forever. I cant get it no matter what, all that i would like to have done is most of the daedric quests reset so i can do them over. i missed out keeping all of them and would like to try again.

The ones that i have completed is the black star and the thieves guild quest with the skeleton key.

I have worked on this for a long time and everytime i try and quickload the quicksave it will not load it, all it does is freeze forever.

Well on second thoughts i guess 100 points on everything would be bad, and some more upgrade points wouldnt be that bad also. I have already beat the game and done most of the quests so just playing around now.thanks

Or put me midway through lv40 (I've kept count on where I should be :P) I didn't get any skill points, stat upgrades, or even an acknowledgement that I had leveled up. The bar just filled all the way, then stopped. I figured I just wasn't there yet, but after killing 2 dragons, a load of bandits & wolves, a few Silver Hand, and fixing Pelagius's mind (WABBAJACK! :D), I soon realized that I'm stuck. Could you be a dear & fix it for meh? Please & thank you :)

i just had a look at your save, and there is nothing wrong.
the leveling up system is 100% dependent on leveling up your skills

if you dont level up your skills, you dont levelup your character. even if that means 2 dragons, and a horde of bandits.
i bought a lot of stuff from the shops and confirmed you level up, i created some smithing stuff and you leveled up.
so all in all, your doing fine :),

my personal save is stuck on level 54, because i hate to level up my block lol. once i do level up block i will continue on to level 55 and so on.

you may level up your skill 1 level but that does not mean you level up your level.

hey having a strange problem. I followed your guide and i get to where i exit the game after the loading. only problem is my cache folder doesn't have ps3_game folder in it. I'm trying to transfer my save from my ps3 to my xbox and get the skeleton key in my possession again. If you get the time could you check it out please? I got my xbox save as an example for the id.
