markus95 has put together a MOD file for Paintown, game designed by jonrafkind and complied by Lunuxx for the PS3!

It basically adds some more characters and levels to the side-scrolling retro type of action/fighting game, as you can see in the video below:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jnpmU-NqV6E

Procedure:

• Install Paintown 3.5 on your PS3.

All files are to be transferred by FTP, we recommend that you use Multiman as FTP or place the files on your USB drive and transfer them using file manager Comgen's awesome.

• Place

1. The record in markus95: dev_hdd0/game/Paintown_/USRDIR/data /
2. File main.txt (French translation) in: dev_hdd0/game/Paintown_/USRDIR/data/menu
3. The file in paintown.txt: dev_hdd0/game/Paintown_/USRDIR/data/paintown
4. The records contained in players (Terry, broly, ken) in dev_hdd0/game/Paintown_/USRDIR/data/players

• The mod is installed!

NOTE: To use this MOD file, you need the original Paintown v3.5 installed first, please see this PS3Crunch'ing thread (http://www.ps3crunch.net/forum/threads/555-Paintown-v3.5) for more info!

ok guys I am not the developer of the game -- yet again -- i think ive said this before but things got mis-interpreted somehow on the other ps3 sites. jonrafkind develops the game for multiple platforms, I merely compile it for ps3 after jon fixes the code to work for the platform. I would like to thank markus for providing a mod that is enjoyable to play

Thanks, I corrected the first post. -- Also upgraded your status here to "Crunching Developers". -- Enjoy.

thanx garyOPA, though Im not the developer of the game i post everytime there is a substantial update for ps3 or when i make a character worth posting about, I do the initial testing and work w/ jonrafkind during the testing to keep the environment there for debugging with ps3load. I'm loving this mod by marcus95 tho, make sure to try out his characters and levels they are a good time

Whether you code it or not, you still debug and compile it - as well as creating new characters, which is enough to be considered a dev =) I'm still holding out for a working MUGEN mode though.
