Hello guys!
It's me again :).
No body replied on my question on online gaming so I will try something else ;).

Little update:
I bought a new Sony 52" LX900 Edge LED television.
Since I bought this one I'm having problems to play online..
Don't think it can because of the television but who knows..

These are my problems:

1: I almost never can get in the Playstation Network in the Multiplayer menu of COD Black Ops...
It says go to callofduty.com/blackops/status to check the status of the servers.. but everything is good..

2: There was an update (1.13 for black ops, and 1.12 for MW2), it said it would take 400 minutes to download.. only 64 and 17 MB.. :/

3: IF I can play online, what is not easy, it's really laggy.. there's always lag and sometimes it says connection interrupted and i'm kicked from the lobby.. -_-'.

So now I was thinking, maby I can take the part which provides the console from WIFI from one of my other consoles and put it in that one to go online with. The others are broken or jailbroken so i don't need the WIFI part...

Does anyone know where I can find the WIFI part into the console? and can I replace it?

Thanks alot :)!

By the way, i'm having quite fast internet connection (15 MBps, and mostly arround 50 ping, don't know what the ping is but read allot about it).
I'm having 30% connection to the router. I played a few months ago perfectly with 10% so that isn't the problem I think.
Wired is impossible because the router is not close enough to my PS3... I would need a 50m ethernet cable to connect it so that's quite impossible to do..

1st: You should really try to use an ethernet to confirm if using the cable you don't have the same issues.
If everything's ok using the cable then you have 2 possibilities:

a) Interference - I had this ! When using a wireless video transmitter the ps3 wifi signal was always falling;
b) Broken wifi card - yes. you can replace-it and it is quite easy.
If you have a FAT system - PM me and I may be able to get you one (providing you are in Europe)

30% is absolute crap for anything other than web browsing. It is really bad. The percentage doesn't describe quality of the connection good enough. So those 10% could be better than 30% in latency or packet loss.

Anyway, anything below 40% will not give you good enough connection to be able to play online decently.

There's also another thing, very simple. Some PC in your network is taking a lot of bandwith. If you download something then any multiplayer game will be broken.

Good point about the interference. Try changing the channel of your network on your router, but make a big change, like 5 to 10.

I see you have quite a bit of problems, it is recommended that you:

1.Reboot both router and console

if the problem persists...

2.Find a way to connect it to ethernet.

if the problem persists...

3. Try taking it to a friends house see if it works fine there

if the problem persists...

4.Try to see that nothing is interfering with the connection

if the problem persists...

5.If you need to replace the wifi module on your ps3 then see the images below:

Hi guys!
thanks for the great intel ;)!
I'm having 3 consoles right now..
but sometimes, just like today.. everything is working great.. -_-
sometimes it doesn't work or doesn't work at all..
The pictures you gave me.. isn't that the antenna for the controllers?
I know the complete inside of my PS3.. but didn't know this provided my ps3 from wifi..

with a cable isn't possible at all.. I would need a 100 m cable to get to my ps3.. just because alot of walls, stairs, ...
Today I did the 3.72 update, maby it's because of this.. but it's working great today..
If the problem commes back I will replace the wifi module with one of my other consoles ;)
thanks alot :D!

Check speedtest.net and pingtest.net with only 1 wifi device on to see if it's the router.

thats only the wifi antenna fyi, that would be the first thing to replace i suppose, but if it still isn't fixed i would recommend another wifi board (the thing in the first picture).

but your issues seem to be because you are too far away from your router than anything else.
