NTFS / PFS Problems reading flash drive using MmOS browsing

    Hi there

Congratulations Deank for a most beautiful product (4.18.04).

I have problems in reading an NTFS flash drive which is formatted as NTFS Primary. I toggle the NTFS / PFS driver and goto MmOS and click on PS3 ROOT. I can see pvd_usb000 (my 32GB NTFS flash drive has 1 partition) but after clicking on pvd_usb000 it seems to result in an ever spinning circle and folder reports 0MB ?
On browsing the internal of my PS3 I can still see the original USB.CFG used when I had Multiman 4.09. Could this be the problem ?

This always worked using multiman 4.09 with USB.CFG configured with product id and vendor id in the multiman folder on internal drive of PS3. I was able to browse my NTFS flash drive successfully.

Your expert help would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

You can try to remove the USB.CFG and test again. When you see a spinning arrow it means that the disc is not really detected.

    Hi Deank

Many thanks for your prompt response. The NTFS flash drive I was using for the newest version of multiman is the same as I was using fo Multiman v4.09 which found it with ease. I will try to remove USB.CFG for the PS3 Multiman Internal drive and see if that helps.

    I will keep you updated.

    Many thanks again

    Best Regards

    Good Morning Deank

As promised to keep you updated, I tried removing the USB.CFG file from /dev_hdd0/game/BLES80608/USRDDIR/ and running Multiman 4.18.04.

I removed all USB devices (including my FAT32 external and obeyed all Multiman messages) so PS3 just read from NTFS flash drive.

I tried browsing pvd_usb000 with toggle NTFS ON using MmOS and unfortunately still experienced the same result (ever spinning circle and folder reports 0MB).

Just as a quick test, i reinstalled Multiman V4.09 (which requires my original USB.CFG file in /dev_hdd0/game/BLES80608/USRDDIR )and I was able to browse the NTFS flash file.

Let me know of further developments.

Again thanks for enriching my life .

    Best Wishes

If it works with the USB.CFG in the older version it should work with USB.CFG in the latest version too.

Hi there, I too am having this same problem, NTFS hard drive I keep all my games on, always worked in the past info on usb.cfg, now it does not read on 4.18.04, it knows the HDD is there but just a quick flash on the HDD then nothing, I've tried both with and without the usb.cfg

NVM I got it to work, apparently it won't read the games in the XMMB anymore but it does read the HDD is MmOS, any chance that we will be able to see, copy, etc, back in the XMMB soon? at least I can still access my games though.

I intentionally removed the display of the NTFS games in the game modes. If mM can't properly detect the HDD or USB.CFG is misconfigured it caused mM to lock/refresh endlessly (a bug in the PFS driver). That's why I removed it, but from mmOS you can always copy the games to the internal hdd.

    Good afternoon

The new version of Multiman is using the same USB.CFG as Multiman V4.09. However V4.09 works using MmOS here and V 4.18.04 doesn't. So I can't copy games to internal simply as Multiman won't detect NTFS flash drive.

    Cheers
