You're not the only one that hates it when people pass off their opinions as "hard facts"!
Heh lol. Sorry I'm just tired of seeing people putting forth more effort in complaining, then taking matters into their own hands. I understand people's frustrations, it sucks not being able to use a product you paid for. But instead of just sitting there and taking out your frustrations which are only serving to piss you off even further, and others, do something about it. Contact the reseller that you purchased the dongle from, and ask for a replacement. I'm sure they have a replacement policy. But it's probably only 30 or 60 days. So if you spent all of that time complaining about your problem instead of acting on it, you just screwed yourself out of the easiest and most timely way of getting the situation resolved.
But I do completely agree that we need an unbricking tool. I never said I was opposed to that. But until something like that is released, do yourself a favor and seek alternative methods such as asking the reseller for a replacement. I'm sure they will accommodate you if you are in the return policy grace period.
EDIT: Also for people that are technologically inclined - you could try using a programmer that is designed for the board/chipset that they use. I'm pretty darn sure they exist. But be warned - it may not work. So before you try that, you better make sure you know how to do it, and make sure you can return it if that fails.

I was saying that since the first post about the "failure rate" and got a reply of "search forums it's me and a bunch of people all over the web" and I only could return about a handful. Gary even replied saying it looks like 4% at most.
I work on DS Flashcart software and am well aware of failure rates for these things. And the teams/vendors behind them simply go "oh? it dead? here we send another" EVERY TIME.
It's been at least 2 weeks now of Barth complaining about bricking and coming into the threads doing his "USB debugging" questioning. Just contact the reseller and explain the situation. I've never had a problem online and I've bought from countless "Chinese Console Utilities" places for the past decade.
Never "Liked" or "thanked" a post here I don't think, but I'll get yours.
meanwhile, my dongle kicks ass and I've simply been enjoying the hell out of Portal 2... will move onto Assassin's Creed when that's done... and await whatever they have planned. Updated to 2.4 went flawlessly as well.

Exactly m8. I may not know a lot about this dongle, but I do have extensive knowledge on computers and electronics in general. So I know about DOA's, etc, etc. Likewise I fully agree, even the console scene resellers do in fact take care of their customers. If you actually take the time and ask them for a replacement, I guarantee they will do it for you. Why? Because they want your business. if they don't help you out, they just lost a customer and potentially even more customers because of word of mouth. So they will help you.
Also thanks for the thumbs up. .

You know the funny thing? Lightake is in fact replacing damaged dongles for users who genuinely have these issues through no fault of theirs. Jerry has been asking people to ship back their dongles for replacements if you check.
Barth is just fucked because he got his from elsewhere I don't think from an online retailer though.

Well then he's crap out of luck lol. As it's just like buying a 360, ps3, 3ds, or anything else from a party that is not an official seller/reseller, etc.

Just update the dongle to 2.4. Meanwhile waiting on the christmas releases, I will do a try to complete Rayman and Saints Row 100% (I think I will not succeed). Till now I really enjoy the dongle!!!
Lol? Prea... Where did you lost the post "Damn if i love to bash friends" ????
I was messing with ya.
I am the first, with bubba, pushing this dongle. This community can confirm. Either on psxscene, when this dongle was confined in indonesia. Reading trolls bashing around, expecially when i was writing "This dongle will be your only hope to play new games. Deal with it." I bough it when HDD patch wasn't available, and without a damned BDR because of a sold out. It was the last dongle countrywide imported where i live, so i took it as destiny. "Surely TB will be a great choice" was my tough. Just for who remember my old posts, the store offered me a clone, more cheap. I bough the original one. And guess, i was right. For 1 month i enjoyed this dongle and new games, when people was still puzzled on how to order it. Noone paid me for this "campaign" i made everywhere (not just on this forum nor just on this language) , giving a serious and professional feedback about this dongle, usage, problems. Either the brick, yes. All of you bough and enjoy this dongle because of bubba's and my reports and analysis. I don't expect a Thanks, Barth. What i hope, at least, is some respect for someone who will never eat the hand who feed me. I was "just" pushing a tool. Not just for my dongle. But for the community. Devs seems not sure it's possible a "normal usage brick" but instead, was maybe a hardware fault. And i need , like you said, a new dongle. And no, not from Lightake. I bough my dongle from my videogame store near my house. And warranty was 1 month, my dongle died on the last day, at 8 PM. Luckly, today i went to my store complaining , and they told me i will have a substitute for free, as soon as new dongles will arrive here, as much out of warranty. TB seems a lucky dongle, commercially talking. Neither a warranty disappointment. DOA or hardware malfunction happens. I'm an IT expert too, prea. Appreciated worldwide , when i post, mostly because 99% of my posts are true and helpful for the community. If sometimes i "mess around" , smart people laugh. Like gdrive, naughtydog, JLM. JLM made a post on JBKING's thread with JBKING dongle with my avatar's picture on it, exactly because they got i was joking. I truly hope, prea, next time you feel your fingers in a mood of bash, to read carefully if who you're going to bash is exactly the opposite of what you think, and someone "joking", clearly wrote on my post. Why you didn't bash Patrickbatman too? He wrote something similar to my posts. Both joking, before you start an other bash. To be clear, if you didn't got it, i approve the clone. Competition brings always something new. Like 2.4 update. And maybe one day, a great update. JBKING will be able to sell his product? We will see. For now, for sure, with 2.4 update and nothing new on their website, i'm quite happy with my TB dongle. Soon, restored. For sure, i learn a lesson. You 're not someone to mess around with.
And Merry Christams
p.s. @PatrickBatman: Thanks bro. As i tought, my dongle went crazy. VID and PID are 0000 both.
