Sorry, yeah typo, I meant 2.61. 'No you can access online' can or can't? Because I am able to get in the account creation screen. Maybe it'll ask me to update afterwards. Just a question, no intentions to play online or such things.
Thanks for the reply!
Nikola must've made a typo too!
No you CANNOT get access to PSN via MFW as Sony constantly updates its firmware and blocks off PSN access from older firmware versions.

Yeah online is not possible unless you know the X-Passphrase, which Sony changes ever so often, and only three people in the world know that I know of, one of them being Sony, and just recently Sony made some more changes with 4.11, but that means alot more patching is needed to 'VSH.self'
At some point you might see it coming, but it is total can of worms that neither side is willing to play with at this point, I suggest not even thinking about it for at least 3 more months.

On the other hand, here at the PS3 scene you pay for a DRM device - in other words you pay for something that can be done/incorporated to consoles free of charge.
People know the difference, so it will have an effect on the scene. Also, you can't compare the two scenes in terms of profit hacking.
The dongle is needed to activate a usb exploit that puts the ps3 into partial debug mode.
It is needed hardware.
I love playing with my dongle.

TBCrunch is going to hack into Sony and GreggyHax is going to get framed for it!
Don't have to, the answers have been laying around for a while, plus some unreleased exploits that able the right key people to get the info needed to continue to support those that want to play games. -- As for online it has been tried in few, and i mean a few, maybe at the most 2 machines so far, and there is possible avenues, but it is mess of legal worries, not to mention it is no use unless you can make sure all 'updates' are patched the moment they appear, and DLC is available, games like Skyrim are up to 1.06 and TB only release 1.02, so no way you can go online, same with like COD, and GT5, all need those UPDATE patchs, unless I see more groups releasing every update the moment it appears, it going to be very short list of games you can play online with others.

You are spot on there Gary, especially when crackers are always trying to keep up to date with the latest updates and having the latest game updates is imperative for online gaming privileges, and it isn't restricted to PS3 games either.

Emulation is the future. A team is currently working on a new hack for the Playstation3.
The blueray player, Sony’s PCB has been cracked and costs can thus be gekloont. The team probably Wasabi or Wiikey team is currently working on this for the board to connect to an external HDD. This can be downloaded games played as Wasabi360 and Xkey for the Xbox360.
A major retailer in China has also indicated that this year is released.
