I'm sure you wasn't writing this stuff, Prea, if was your dongle the one bricked. Me and Patrickbatman are, (expecially me, the older to post some tests) the one with the most unexpected way to brick. Patrick just did a direct boot load. I did plently times for MW2 and rebug, no bricks. He did 1 time, semi bricked. I did an NTFS transfer. As i did for every other TB game. So no reason for assume NTFS is not supported, don't use it. The theory besided "The dongle was thinking you was attempting a clone" is pure theory. No base, no confirm from TB team, just a "Maybe is the reason" wrote from someone here. Noone of us know why my dongle and Patrick's one are ruined. His one is still alive, giving him dev installation (rofl). Mine, dead. So, if noone know the real reason, till when a reset tool is released, i would not consider safe a daily use of TB products. You know why you don't see tons of post of bricked dongle? Because is arrived few days ago, for most. Give time. Trust me, you will trow worst than me, when your dongle will brick. We just don't have enough info and more bricked dongle for figure out a common reason, one day we will. If a reset tool is released, any brick created from a random reason or a common one will be a bad luck. Fixed in 2 minutes. Not like now, with customers with a DOA dongle, Patrick with a dev dongle (lol) and me refreshing this page waiting a GaryOPA post with some links of this damned tool. The only one who don't care if his dongle will brick is bubba, his dongle was free. We paid, a lot.

My dongle works now, but I already got an electric shock twice when touching the dongle.

    PS3, but it works.
Maybe a metal case is not that smart.

I agree with you mostly, but with that "strict" reasoning then games < 3.56 *wouldn't* be playable just because TB didn't say that, and we all know they play fine with the 3.55 Dongle - TB combo.

There's a difference between trying to reverse engineer the chip with a programmer and it bricking itself (GREAT!) and Direct Booting by mistake in MultiMan and it eating the dust just for that (WRONG!)

I wouldnt worry though mate, it may take a bit of time but I'm 90% certain you will get the tool you need to fix your dongle. There are some factors that may be holding things up, size of team, making sure they dont make their secret method vulnerable, etc.
Unfourtunately their focus may have shifted on to trying to protect their dongle from cloners again now.
That is all speculation but I dont think they are holding back the 'tool' for any sinister reason.. as I said further back, shit takes time..
Thanks Gravox. I hope Tb team will do something Not just for me and Patrick, but either for every user with a DOA dongle, electronically alive.

So yes, I've known all along what my dongle can and can't do. I knew without a shadow of a doubt it could run 3.6x/3.7x backups from HDD, and it COULD potentially do a whole slew of other things that you guys tested. but at the end of the day I knew without a shadow of a doubt that it did ABC. So if people do XYZ, and it bricks, well that's their problem. . And as a result I've never even tried doing anything past "launching games via multiman with X from int hdd." that's all I've done. Hell that's all I ever do unless I'm testing homebrew, linux, etc to which I'll go for a firmware dedicated to it. See I've always done exactly what the thing was designed for at it's core. You guys have always tried to push the limits. Now where did that lead? A brick.

Note : Sorry about any grammar issues, I'm running a fever so ya. Also apologize if this comes off as being an ass. See first excuse. So eat me ROFLMAO!
Not2: I only say HDD because I bought mine when the HDD firmware was out. So I don't include any potential BD support.
So you don't play 3.55 and lower games on yours (cause you didnt mention they said they supported that), cause I can tell you that works HAHAHAHHA! (Just noticed Ghostbusting Dan Akroyd already mentioned this)
DOn't get me wrong I don't think they should list everything you can't do with the dongle like "Dont submerge in liquids, don't eat." But when saying themselves use with backup managers (Which they do say) they should give a heads up like dont do this in manager this may BRICK you dongle or whatever. Because what they said makes it sounds like the dongle is fully compatible with whatever the backup manager has to offer.

Oh well guess i shouldn't care my dongle works so screw everybody else right

EDIT: And Prea sorry your sick friend I'd be a little bitch on here if I was. Get well soon card!
