It was mentioned before the 2.5 jb-king update that this would happen (in response to Mark Webber from a very knowledgeable person).
I think all is fare in Love and War.
Thanks TB for sharing your thoughts.
We really appreciate it when you update your news.
I love playing with my dongle.

This is the black market of PS3 accessories - there are no rules here . Although I don't like this policy of data erasing (why should the gamer pay with his data for buying a cheaper clone?) I find this move quite impressive. It will make the potential JB-K customers think twice before they buy a clone or install TB patches EVEN if this is just a hoax and no damage will be done. Maybe it will lead to an even more aggresive move from JB-K like releasing the DRM, who knows.

I also don't like this strategy of erasing HDDs if you are using a clone, but I'm really not that concerned since I don't own a clone. My only worry is for the possibility that false positives are detected and that TB users have their HDDs erased. It has never made any sense to buy a clone since you will always have to wait longer for eboot patches to work, and now this is another reason to avoid the clones.
Of course, this statement by TB about the clones may not be true - I haven't read any reports yet of HDDs being erased from JB2-King owners.

All in all, I just don't know what to say other than:
- This is going to make clone owners and consumer rights activists go batshit crazy and make ragefaces.
- This is going to give True Blue a very bad name and put off potential buyers in buying it.
- Possibly make its rivals "plan revenge" on True Blue with certain tactics like bricking the dongle, and;
- This might affect the hacking hardware scene negatively as a whole in the worse case scenario.
I have never seen hacking hardware manufacturers resort to such bullshit tactics in my life (if this is confirmed to be true), and I don't see the point in resorting to such tactics, but if they do resort or are going to resort to such tactics, they will surely face the consequences.

It wouldn't be very difficult to have bogus reports and forum posts in the hopes of scaring clone buyers away. Given the PS3 scene history of drama... it wouldn't come as a surprise to me either.

are only defending only their dongle and it is normal and just what they do, there's nothing strange or surprising, we know that they are like that.
for the rest of the scene there and I give full support to TB because it is useless to continue it again without them there nient 'other only talk of stupid kids who dream stannoa in the hope that someone releases a miserable CFW ... poor deluded
