Can't they crack the online thing? PC crackers do it all the time with applications and games. Like figure out what file it gets online make it available via download on PC/MAC or get the file and put it into the eboot? Because if this works against TB im sure other companies will follow suite.

Truth be told, this is the only forum where when can have some sort of "unofficial" information about True Blue developments. The words written by Gary are followed with interest, because he has some knowledge about some key informations on this subject. That has already been confirmed by Gary.

That brings attention (good and bad) towards Crunch.

Also, good thing is: this the only forum where we can freely talk about True Blue without being slammed/hammered, flamed, trashed, by other members. In here, TB buyers, who are enjoying the patches already released, can have some sort of "fresh air" talking on this forum. But, we are not lobotomized lambs. We can argue, debate, request, whatever. If we respect the others members, we can argue on different opinions/toughts.

Thats why i feel good in Crunch :-)

Agreed!! Crunch is pretty much the only place I come to for PS3 news. I don't know what Gary and the Mods do hurt here the threads stay on topic, flame wars are few a far apart, and the occasional troll vanishes just as fast as it appeared. All of this without censoring peoples opinion (like those other sites). Good jobs guys!

I hope TB will crack game updates as well, Skyrim v1.4 patch is coming out soon which supposedly gets rid of the lag. I sure hope to be able to continue my adventure.

    Hy everyone!

I just wanted to buy a TB next week, but what I've been reding lately is very dissapointing
Especially the case of the bricked/suicidal dongles..why can't they make something right?

Bartholomy, did you manage to "revive" your dongle?

I've been stumblin' up a few things about this matter yesterday, and read that the other dongle named JB King already has some repair tool, that can reapir broken dongles. Although, it reapirs dongles, which died because of the 2.4 TB FW, but couldn't it be possible to repair broken TB dongles with it?
I read that the JB King has an additional IC onboard, so it can communicate with the onboard SPI, therefore it can be repaired via Pc if broken..

Its funny to see that maybe the clone is better than the original?.. thats why TB only focuses on getting their firmware even safer, instead of releasing new game fixes..

    Any opinions anyone?

Uhm no. Never found a way to repair it using a tool. I got a replace from my store, near my house. Honest people (0.01% are honest in s/e asia, expecially with foreigners), as much i was out of warranty, they changed mine. Yep, JBking is better, about fix. Not just a tool is available, but JBking has a button for program mode. Something TB doesn't have. So if you want to reprogram his SPI, you need to be a hardware nerd. Forget it, basically.
TB is not scared because JBking is "better". They are just trying to protect their interest, because this clone loads their games, so TB team spend time for eboots, jbking users use them. Jbking promised some releases. Well, never happend
A TB with a reprogram tool was the last heaven. Meh

Well Luffy, depends on your needings. If you want to play now, buy a TB, rest to go hell, and you enjoy Skyrim & co. If you want something safe, but a JBking. As much i didn't read any feedback about the 2.5 update and games like thor working. Thor doesn't work with 2.4 for example. If you can wait months/ years , feel free to wait, reading some bash against TB and nothing tangible as free (now. tomorrow?) . Up to you

I read at ps3news now, that some guy named Nabnab stated, that TB and co. does nothing extraordinary..their Eboots are just normal ebbots which they resingned on their own, and that the dongle works almost like the old jailbreaks using syscall commands. And with these commands they can put the console from user mode into kernel mode, which allows the to run games their singned on their own, without the need of any keys..

I wish this info would be true and someone on the scene could integrate the functionality into a CFW..just like old times..

This Nabnab is talking out of his ass, if they were JUST eboots, they'd already be converted for our use without, but then agian, the eboots would be signed with the 3.6 keys... which we don't (most likely will never) have so that means 1 of two things,

    1. TB have figured out how to decypt the eboots and then resign them for 3.55 + TB
    2. The Dongle actually does something meaningful and isn't just decoration like people think.

I'm thinking it's #2, as if it was 1... TB could just decrypt, and resign for their specific CFW so no one else could use it, the fact there's a clone of TB, means the dongle isn't just "useless"..

also.. "old times" is a dongle, since.. that's what the scene started with =p

You have no idea what a key or encryption is, do you? You can't just ignore keys just because of some mode. Encryption means the content is not readable until it gets decrypted!
That's like you getting an encrypted letter which only contents something like "igdjgeigsitxitsjtsitsjsjgsitsjgxitskgsjgsigsk g itxitxig itxitxkgxitxitxigdtgkes" and you're like: "Whow, I'll just switch to super reading mode and read that message without encrypting it"

Sorry to disappoint you, but it just doesn't work like this!

    If that is the case

Surely you'd need the tape inside the casing of the dongle what can it do on the outside?
