JonnyBravo: Thanks for doing this blog. It's an informative read, and I'm following along at home so to speak, but I have just one tiny request; could you make a sig with a link to the blog? It's easier to click a link at the end of your update posts than go to the 1st post, etc. Yah, I know, lazy
I want to say thanks for putting up this blog to help people. I really appreciate this kind of thing!
Quick question though, are you planning on downgrading a phat or slim playstation? im stuck on 3.7 and wanted to go back to cfw. Im thinking of the progskeet but im not confident enough with my soldering skills. How are you planning on doing it, and if its with the clip, could you please post on how you did it?
That shit would be much MUCH appreciated!!!
Thanks
if you cant dazzle 'em with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit

Actually I plan on doing that, my progskeet and the clip arrived today and since I got a bricked ps3 on 3.60 here I'll try it now If that's successful I'll add a post about downgrading.
Next post will come tomorrow or one day later, still messing with lv1call headers on linux and other stuff
Todays topic: Just some preparation and exploration of our system. Discussing the technique we'll use and making our compiler ready.
The next post will follow quickly so don't be disappointed that there's no code today. I'm already testing SPE communication now but I need some more tests before I post it Learning takes time
isnt that the clip for xbox 360
not the ps3 or am i missing something

Thanks for the hint, I'll just solder the progskeet then. But I'm sick atm so that will have to wait a little bit(that's also the reason why there was no new post in the last days).
Since I'm fit again the next post will follow on sunday or monday. I'm at my old home over the holidays(I hate it ), so it would be really nice if anyone got a Ps3 with ssh access I could use to test my ppu/spu code over the holidays. If not I'd have to explain my girlfriend how she can install ssh and I'm afraid that's not gonna work
So if anyone could offer me ssh access to his/her Ps3(1 hour every 2 days would already be enough to test my code) I'd really appreciate that. I won't run anything that can brick your Ps3 so don't be afraid

i'm willing to offer you my help, as i'm also from germany. do you mean remote control over ps3 or if someone can lend it to you?
but first some clarification as i'm not familiar with such things. how do ppu/spu codes interfere with system if anything goes wrong? i mean i have a nor flasher, but no syscon/eeprom flasher if this gets messed up.
