Project PROGSKEET: Official Website Now Online

We have reported before on the recent great advances in being able to FLASH or DUMP your PS3, both NOR or NAND's versions, and now even do downgrades and there is also possible new exploits being developed to handle the new breed of Jailbreak that is brewing along slowly for all the PS3 owners out there, and now finally the The Last Mile is ready, and we share with you today a picture of the up-coming cute little crunching flash device that well be doing the final job for you:

    NEWS UPDATE:

The software developer behind the ProgSkeet project has been kind enough to join us here at PS3Crunch and has shared with us some more background and detailed information on the soon to be released 'hardware':

    - can read/write NOR flash up to a VERY big capacity (that doesn't even exist) - infectus can only write up to 256kB - teensy++ has no writing capability atm (iirc) - might be supported by the software, not sure if it can match its speed though
    - EVERY KIND OF NOR/NAND FLASH SUPPORTED - infectus doesn't, teensy++ needs special firmwares for every single one
you won't even need ME to update the software, semi-skilled people just read datasheets and adapt the configuration file
(regular nand/nor flashes included in PS3, 360, Wii, etc. are already in there, but say you're using this for car tuning, you're gonna need to adapt the config)

I know the hardware well but HAVE NOT DEVELOPED IT - I only made the software for it so if you have a problem with that, you just get at me (don't flood please, thanks )

so: cancel infectus order, be patient for at least 3 more days, you won't regret it
UPDATE: #2 We now attached the official wiring diagrams that been released so far by the Progskeet!

I guess for the people who haven't bought any tools, it comes down to which will be cheaper.

Hope they engineer something that works on slims, something tells me I'll be picking up another slim to hack since my 60GB has a limited life span due to the heat build up and inadequate solder on the BGA.

I'm glad to see that the scene is still so active even a year after it's inception. Even though I'm buying another PS3 so I can go online and play newer games, it'll be a 40gb, which I'd prefer to use for homebrew over my slim if possible

Really good news, thanks for that.

Probably would be more "powerful" than with a teensy?
I may be wrong, but I doubt this would be an open project.

I can't WAIT for this. This would be perfect for any dev testers. It looks good so far.

On another note, I like how we're using the word "crunch" and variations of it throughout the site lol

Edit: I hope this cost a little less than Infectus. If the price of it releases before my infectus stops taking forever to finish processing, I'll cancel that order...In fact, I might just cancel that order.
