Looks like this is a normal problem happens on many guys, is there any solution to this ? i want to contact the official team, but never can get a contact email or form in the official site. hope someone in this forum can help me to solve it, or there is no method to fix it?

Edit: this is the second time i met this problem, the first time, i returned my dongle and replaced a new one, but now the second one i received is the same, can't the official tested it before sending them out.. bad luck.

    Thanks in advance!

thanks, yeah, i have tried without updating, no luck, the system info still says PS3 V3.55 which means it can not detect the PS3 TB

Try in recovery menu update to OFW 3.55, then the TB CFW PS3, and run PS3 without dongle. Then install and run update 2.2 for TB. This method helped me "revive" my dongle.

Did you make sure to not insert the dongle until the updater program asks you to? Personally, I had it plugged in after the ps3 booted up and it updated just fine.

I can't see why there are so many reported issues with this dongle. It's just a CPLD/FPGA, with a usb interface. Soldering issues aside, why would so many failures result? If you take the thing apart you could at least reprogram it yourself, if a bad flash occurred.

Do you know anyone else that has a 3.55 console that you can try to update the dongle in? Rule out something with your console..?

Unplug every usb device from your PS3!

Also, wait to put the TB in untill the updater tell you to

    Also, try Rebug TB edition

    Same kind of problem

So my dongle stopped working as well, well it first worked fine on v2,4. played some game that i sent using ftp. Then i decide to play portal 2 external but the moment i plugged in my external hdd, my ps3 turned it self off and my dongle lights went out, so i unplugged my hdd. kept the true blue plugged in. My when i turned on my ps3 again no lights, not red or green and before it was green. then i tried to reinstal update 2,4 but then it said can not communicated with dongle, but no red light or flickering red light, just no light at all.

Electric damage. Faulty dongle maybe. Send it back to your reseller, asking a new one. If Lightake, your dongle will be analyzed later, and you will play again as soon as a new dongle is arrived.
    Yeah, it's me
