Coveman releases 'Open PS2 Loader' as ISO for Cobra USB
We all know how great the 'Cobra USB' dongle is in getting 'backup' and 'out-of-region' PS2 games to play on your Sony PS3 console, infact it can even make alot of the games work on non-backwards-compatible PS3 systems like of course all the Slim PS3 models.
For those not following the PS2 'scene' any more, there is couple of great programs out there in the Jungle, and one of them is called Open PS2 Loader aka OPL v0.8 and it allows you to run all your PS2 games from an 'external HDD' & also from PC via a 'network SMB' share and now thanks to 'Coveman' he has released a version of OPL in ISO format which in the long run makes your 'Cobra USB' dongle on the PS3 even more useful now.
Open PS2 Loader ISO file
You don't need SWAP MAGIC
You don't need any optical disc at all in your PS3
Works on PS3 non-BC (tested on my SLIM) (CobraUSB required)
I created an "Open PS2 Loader" ISO file, so you can just load it from Cobra Manager or multiMAN.
Just extract the .rar and transfer it to your internal HDD to /dev_hdd0/PS2ISO
I included the cover so you can either put it in /covers_retro/psx/SLES_806.08_COV.JPG or rename it to "Open PS2 Loader.jpg" and put it along side the ISO in PS2ISO folder.

PLEASE NOTE: This only works with 'Cobra USB' Dongle

You make it sound like Cobra drains an entire PS3's worth of power.. and that the PS3 runs off a battery, that has to be constantly charged. I seriously doubt Cobra pulls THAT much power (can't be more than 5v as.. you know.. that's what a USB device pulls..)
You won't see a version for people without cobra because.. simple no one's made it available to those without it, once that happens then you'll see a version that allows what you're asking, but there's still money to be made so no freebie for you.
I know it doesn't drain like...Android 19 (lol), but still.
I've had YLOD before, and most times that is caused by hot systems. Ever since then I've been iffy about leaving devices plugged up unnecessarily (ps eye, usb drives, etc).
