I posted yesterday to pick a user up for taking a dig at exetrimall (and all hobby-hackers).

The rest of the post then followed with my view regarding the game at hand (i.e. on-topic).

I log in this morning and my post is gone. Good I think (though they could have left in the game comments!) as that means they have also removed the other users silly dig at people who are working for the scene for free in the same way many crackers have before and will in the future.

Hobby hackers aren't inherently socially inadequate and living in their folks basement.

If as a site you are happy to propagate this view whilst deleting views that complain, it is no wonder your page views are dropping!

The user in question seems only focused on posting TB related content and running down most everything else anyway so I have added them to my ignore list. Easy fix.

Seems ridiculous that mods respond when someone posts innocuous non-English words (English only!), but it's okay when someone signs up as "faggotgotTOLD", obviously directed at another member. Is the use of racial slurs also considered acceptable on this site?

I understand that everyone has different experiences. If someone calls me a racial slur, it is very easy for me to laugh at him. The same goes for a straight person being call a faggot. Also, it's fine if any racial group has given a twist to the racial slur historically used to demean them, so that it means something cool, hip, or whatever (still not ok to use as a slur). Straights expanding the use of the words "gay" or "faggot" to include everything that is lame, pathetic, or despicable isn't quite the same thing. Who would be as enthusiastic about using a racial slur for everything lazy or dumb?

As soon as I see any homophobic, racial, sexist or any other derogatory hate for which the victim has no control over, I take action immediately, which may be slightly ironic being in real life I'm considered a misanthropist, but the main and prolly only reason for my misanthropy is because of idiots like this.

On a lighter note, I have many gay, black, female, jewish, etc friends and I'll call them fags, slaves, tell them to get back in the kitchen, etc but I love my friends and they know im joking and am not a homophobic, racist, sexist etc and they dish me funny derogatory shit back, and its fun. But on a public message board or with people you don't know especially when you're a new member this sort of behavior is not tolerated by me whatsoever. If I see this going on in public as well and I can tell its not two good friends making fun of each other I also take action and have been arrested a few times because of it. happy trails you black fag women supporting jews!

Totally agree with you, including joking around with buds. I know what you mean about speaking out in public, though getting arrested for it, wow, that's serious. I admit I get a little pissed at the people who look the other way uncomfortably and pretend not to hear.
