EXCLUSIVE: E3 Team releases 'Fast Dual Boot' and more support for any CFW
It been a while since we heard from the E3DIY team regarding any new news, but today they contacted us here at Crunch HQ, to inform the world out there that they have finished the needed pictures and manual for the 'Fast Dual Boot' mode of their E3 Flasher and they also have released a small PDF tutorial with links to files on how to get any CFW working with no issues what ever, all tho it requires downgrading to OFW v3.41, before upgrading to the CFW v3.55 you wish to run, like for Cobra or True Blue or whatever.
1: New mainboard Fast dual boot successfully with E3 FLASHER.
2: E3 Flasher Fast dual boot and downgrade OFW4.11 to 3.55 successfully, it's same way as downgrade 3.73 to 3.55.
We suggest user upgrade to OFW4.11 and then downgrade to 3.55 from now on. And don't forget backup your OFW4.11 bios well.
3: Downgrade to OFW3.41 from CFW3.55CHECKOFF successfully, tested by E3TEAM.
Now you can enjoy any 3.55FW by this way (downgrade to OFW3.41 and then upgrade to 3.55, include JB2CFW3.55, OFW3.55 and others).
Attached is the high-res picture of the new 'Fast Dual Boot' operation, but please note it requires cutting a trace and soldering so this is recommended only for the skilled PS3 end-user. --- For more information, support, please visit their official web site.
cutting a trace where? on the ps3 board? or on the e3 board? if its on the 3e then will they just make a new hardware revision and have the mod already done? i cant really tell what im looking at there
The instructions in the pdf are for qa flagging the console after it's on the 3.55 no check pup. Using the "set system update debug option to on" method of downgrading to 3.41. Then regular upgrade to any 3.55 firmware.
My ps3 can't downgrade past 3.50, so I can't use this [shakes fist at sky], but thanks for the update regardless. It should be useful for others--just be sure that your console can downgrade to 3.41. But if you're interested in this sort of stuff in the first place, you probably (hopefully) already know that.

All you have to do is cut the trace between a and B in the diagram (lulz 4 progskeet diagram)
Then solder A to the clip. luckily the Pad for A is quite large
Someone reported that as long as the console is qa flagged, it disables the check, but if the flag is switched off somehow there is risk of brick. There is also procedure for rehashing the syscon values in one of the threads here.
isnt there a new .pkg app that can downgrade you without a dongle or a qa flag? i though i saw it in the news here a few weeks ago, so couldnt you just use that?
