Just got my TB dongle. Having a few problems.
Was running CFW fine before.
This is what i've done:
Have Put OFW 3.55 via recovery - tested working fine
Put 3.55-TrueBlue-DG (PS3Crunch reports this as 3.55v2) on. Progress bar jumps from around 72% to 100% but gives no erroor- system information still reports 3.55 however Install Package Files has appeared and everything looks ok.
Installed dongle update without dongle in PS3
switch off - removed everything connected to the PS3
switch on - load dongle update, insert dongle when requested - red light on constant. Unsupported USB device pops up four times, hit ok > ERROR: Unable to communicate with dongle.
Hit ok > back to XMB > light on constant.
Insert USB Drive > install mmCM > load mmCM > OK agreement... loads fine - interestingly don't get BD-ROM EMU error however this shows up subsequently and seems intermittent.
Couldn't get it to work - so repeated steps - followed instructions... stupidly decided to do a format in an attempt to purge before flashing and have lost all internal games. mmCM reports system firmware 3.55 [SC-35 | PL3] and states USB Dongle: True Blue
Dongle constantly red but went through a phase of flashing red - thats now settled after a few more install cycles!
crap..
How can I verify Im on the correct FW as that must be the issue?
A quick google shows a True Blue being displayed as firmware on System Information page on other peoples PS3
Firmware and dongle update downloaded from here. PS3 is a slim 320gb? model i think
Interestingly system info now reports Version 3.55 True Blue v 2.51.... honestly - I've been doing this for hours and its just suddenly appeared!
rebooting the console: the TB firmware is still displayed.... Rebooting with the dongle out: version 3.55
tried to update dongle - Error communicating to dongle
reboot with dongle left in: Firmware: back to Version 3.55 True Blue v 2.51.
Well this is different - definitely progress
So I can't update my dongle but does v2.51 mean the dongle is unto date?
I think I can fit Asuras Wrath onto a USB stick. I'll see if that is playable....
---
I think the TB dongle has an intermittent connection - Its now reporting 3.55 firmware with no BDROM-EMU whilst the dongle was in... I suspect thats been my problem.... Oh well - If I can get it to work again and play Asuras Wrath that will at least confirm its all working, but it looks like i need the dongle replaced, unless they're all like this?
IF nothing works. Restart. You lost all games, so..
1 Format your HDD
2 Put TB CFW V1
3 Update your dongle from 2.2 2.3 and 2.4, progressive upgrade
4 Install TB CFW V2
5 Update your dongle to 2.5
6 DON'T overwrite asura's wrath param.sfo, let MM modify it.
7 Enjoy.
Ouff, how many times i have to post again and again DON'T OVERWRITE YOUR DAMNED PARAM.SFO. Multiman will fix it for you!!!!!
Yeah, it's me Dj Barth "One TrueBlue to rule them all, One Browser to find them,
One TB CFW to bring them all and in the Internal HDD bind them

Is it really showing True Blue version 2.51? or is it a typo?
It should be just 2.5 if I'm not mistaken..
If it's really 2.51 then thats an interesting case.. :O
But a constant red light, or even a blinking red..that means nothing good..
It may be that your TB is broken..
If it's still doing the same and games aren't working you should just send it back for a replacement..

Hey Barth, you're being a little bit tense nowadays, aren't you? :|
He didn't have any porblems with running games..yet..
Actually he is stuck at booting the dongle properly.. :S
Aye, i gave him the solution, so he can test if his dongle works.
I just don't understand why i wrote nearly 800 times don't overwrite your param.sfo, and still i receive 800 "Ahhh ye. Now works, thanks."
Why it's not enough clear as a main rule?
I wrote it big, so maybe it's universally clear?
( it was part of the procedure, just big text, nothing related to the core of his problem, just a rant)

Its constant red but flashes green for a second on boot.
It is temperamental...
I am happy Im on CFW 3.55 v2 but the dongle may have been shipped with 2.5 already on it...
Here is a screen cap - excuse the poor quality - I am using a head mounted display rather than TV...
At the end of the day the games boot - I'm just putting more on my external HD so I can test them - they are all TB only games. SSX I don't have to backup... Asuras Wrath and Twisted Metal are the most recent ones I have...image.jpgimage-1.jpeg
Listen: This website have a library. Download V1 and V2. Reinstall V1, then V2, then test again your dongle.
