Happen to me also for my second TB dongle but...don't worry after reboot my dongle updated to v2.51. Hopefully this happen to you also.
eh rebooted everything as it should be but still gives me the same error. the most unusual when I connect and turn on the ps3 tb is in red and green does not go to. that wine will be missed

If it doesn't turn from red to green then you have done something wrong..
Are you running TB CFW v2 on your ps3?
You need that to use the dongle, and the 2.5 updater only works on CFW v2.
If you just bought the True Blue device it is most likely already updated to newest version on dongle. I had same thing. Turn off ps3, insert true blue, turn on ps3, it should light up green after a little while, if you have The newest true blue firmware. I had to install firmware from ps3 recovery mode. (google ps3 recovery mode if you dont know how, its easy) Enjoy dongle
PS: I think if it turns red after this is all done correctly you may have a damaged dongle, most resellers offer refunds for that unless u bought it used. Oh, and its red and green now, what was it before? oO Maybe they made a "better" version of the dongle? or a cheaper one.. lol
