PSX Backup - Sound running too fast

    Hey there!

Yesterday I tried to load one of my PSX backups. In this case, it was Final Fantasy VII PAL-G. After starting ps1_emu.self, everything went smoothly, but then after the intro video ended, the game, especially the sound ran too fast. First of all I tested the PSX Net, but it didn't helped at all. So I thought, could the reason be the PAL mode?
Via Google I found this tool called Zapper 2000 and switched PAL to NTSC, burned that image on a new CDR but the sound is still running too fast.

    Sry for my bad english.

I hope someone can help me! :-)

Definitely sounds like a frame rate issue or the the PSX is trying to play the wrong sound frequency like 48kHZ and its 44.1kHZ, i think most games can run up to 60fps. ntsc - 29.97 fps, pal - 25 fps. there should be an auto fps setting. You're game is more than likely running above 60fps.
    PS3 Slim w/ Rebug Rex 4.30.2, 500GB Internal, 1TB/3TB External; PS2 Fat McBoot w/ Hard Drive; Windows 7 x64 Ultimate
Last game finished: The Last of Us | Currently Playing: Metro Last Light

Ah, I forgot to say, that I am running this backup on my PS3 via Multiman, the frequency could be the reason. Where can I find that option to control fps? In Multiman setting?
    Thanks for your answer!

In actual fact, I don't think you can if I am right. There's very few configurational features for the PS1 backups via multiMAN and Franklin Delcapo's (CrashSerious) "one" application (the latter only specializing in JUST booting up PS1 backups).

I thought he was using a PS1 emu via XMB not MM (until he told me differently) I know the PC versions of same emu's have more setting options and FPS was one of them. COuldn't check with multiman cause i dont have any emu's in there anymore.

Do NOT start ps1_emu.self manually. Just insert the disc in the tray and multiMAN will detect and show it in the GAME column. There are two settings in "SETTINGS" about PAL and NTSC modes - check them:

    * PSX Display Mode (PAL) (Sets default video output mode for PAL region titles.)
    * PSX Display Mode (NTSC) (Sets default video output mode for NTSC region titles.)

For example set the first setting to "576p" so your game can run in 50hz mode.
If you like multiMAN or multiAVCHD, support the development with a small donation. Click here.

I've not checked into multiMAN that deep in a while - thanks Dean (and there was me thinking why I have problems running some NTSC-based PSone games on my CRT TV)!
