The True Blue forum section is an absolute mess to deal with as a moderator thanks to people creating trillions and trillions of threads and thus, it becomes difficult to find the older thread with the same topic - you've beaten me to it!
So what's all this shit mean? I saw another post that the 2 teams put aside thier differences to come up with a solution. I just want to see some eboots. lol
They still think stealing someone's wares and selling them down the streets counts as "competition". I wouldn't trust them. They screwed up and are bound to screw up again since they still refuse to actually compete and think the least amount of effort will work. So TB 2.6 update will come out. More booby trapped eboots will come out and JBK and crew will fall for it all over again. They could think they got it, but can you really trust them if they aren't 100 percent sure. Isn't that the biggest sign they need to take control and release eboots of their own, not just use True Blue eboots. Everyone is so certain that what TB does is simple, yet we have not seen anything to prove that. Quite the contrary actually. They just took TB eboots and slapped their names on it. That tells me they may not have the skill to crack the eboots themselves, And if they lack skill in that area, they may lack the skill in the update area.
I think this a lot of complete bullshit going in, in the claims from True Blue and JBK. I have both dongles in my possession. I haven't seen any credible, reliable evidence that there is indeed malicious code in True Blue eboots in the first boot.
I own the dongles for the purposes of research and study. My JBK dongle is on 2.5, it doesn't have the "update" to stop malicious code that True Blue put in. JBK has a list of games that could potentionally erase your hard drive, if you play them while on JBK 2.5 Apparently, if I use by JBK dongle, and play any of the following games:
FINAL FANTASY XIII-2
Silent Hill Downpour
Snipers - Invisible, Silent, Deadly
Tales of Graces f
STREET FIGHTER X TEKKEN
Top Gun: Hard Lock
My ps3's hard drive should be erased, among all sorts of other horrible malicious things. All games play no issue on my True Blue. I decided to test the games on my CECHE01, NAND model ps3, with by JB-King on 2.5, which should mean my hard drive will be erased.
I Tested Silent Hill, Tekken, and FINAL FANTASY XIII-2.
My hard drive was not erased. The games booted fine. My ps3 didn't explode from using JB-King dongle. True blue didn't come to my house and beat me up because I used JB-King. Theres always a chance, that my ps3 is a isolated case, and there could be issues for others where a hard drive may be erased.
I think its all a complete load of bullshit. This is strictly my opinion and theory. True Blue is scaring people into thinking they have to get their dongle. That even if their updates get cracked, there's a chance there ps3 will be erased or bricked if they try to play any of True Blue's newer eboot fixes. Now just recently, JB-King, to counter the scare tactics, than releases an "update" in response, to quell the fears. JB-King could know quite easily that the erase hard drive scare is a complete load of bullshit. But why would they say that? JB-King would be much better served releasing a pseudo-update, that really does nothing, but claims they cracked True Blue's new malicious code. Customers, and potential customers, see that JB-King cracked a new True Blue update, and their faith in JB-King's ability to crack new updates would skyrocket, and in turn, their sales would begin to increase.
Maybe there's malicious code somewhere, but with my setup, everything played fine. If I had to make an educated guess, I could see it being much more likely for True Blue to release information strictly for scare tactics, than to actually put malicious code in their product or eboots. There is also a chance of an error where a True Blue owner could have their hard drive erased, and the risk from that is not worth the reward.
Everything needs to be investigated further. My results aren't enough for a logical assumption to be made. Further testing, on multiple models, NAND or NOR, under different circumstances, to fully understand what is going on here. I have access to a NOR console through my girlfriend, and I may run the same tests on her to see the results. If your going to take anything from my post, don't believe everything True Blue or JB-King says. It could very well be propaganda, marketing ploys, and scare tactics. Don't start an all out war, or crusade, until we have the complete story.

I think True Blue not lying about erase HDD and other possible adverse effects, but most likely they are to fully earn only the firmware for the dongle 2.6 (3.0). Maybe this really in this Eboot fix was laid the virus code to erase HDD, but maybe he was in the deactivated state. But it's all our guesses and nothing more.... Waiting for the official statement from True Blue
Until others produce EBOOTs, this is all just going to be dirty.
They've already proved they can "detect".
100 Clones can come out; only 1 group is making the EBOOTs. JBK should just put the bribes into whoever does that and get how it's done.

doing clone dongles is half the job and has already been proven to be something that can be taken advantage of by those who create the EBOOTs.

I think TB team must good at protection on TB and JBK also have good technology on this.So only JBK can do this and other team can only stand by and watch.
