Laser replacement

Greetings! :-)

Can someone please advise on a replacement laser? Since a recent firmware upgrade, the laser is failing to read and Disc. The unit has been reset to factory settings and this had made no difference. Should I replace the whole drive or can just the laser be easily replaced?

what ps3 system do you have ?

Thanks for the reply, I sent it to Sony and got a replacement console.
