Connecting PS3 to VGA monitor

hello, I have a question regarding connecting a PS3 to a VGA monitor.
I have seen many posts of "It can" and "it can't", I wanted to know, can the PS3 be connected to a VGA only monitor?
I have a monitor that is 1280x1024 (Could handle 720p) that I intend to use for my secondary Xbox 360 and PS3, and have already connected my 360 to it through the use of a Joytech VGA output with RCA audio L/R. However, it seems there's no cable that allows the Xbox 360 to output through VGA. Because of this, I've been looking for an alternative.
Does anyone know how to do this? (Preferably on the cheap?)

I had a converter cable to do just that. I got it from dealextreme. Unfortunately, the video quality is shit (washed out colors, mostly). At the time I was also hooking up my 360 to the same old tube monitor, and the quality of that was great. So in theory, it may be possible to do it and get a good picture, I just haven't seen any proof.

I use an xcm vga box that i picked up used off ebey for £15, it works ok. The picture is decent but does black out every once in a while for a second but doesnt happen often.
For what i payed for it im happy with it.

Dude your best bet is to get a HDMI to DVI converter. That is your best bet. Don't mess with VGA when it comes to consoles. Your asking for trouble. Get a decent monitor that has DVI support and get a converter.
