    Need a little help guys

Today I am a very sad panda!

A couple of weeks ago I had my ps3 online and I was updating some of my homebrew (Multiman, showtime etc..). My ps3 WAS on keamw(spelling?) cfw 3.55.
Well, I forget to turn off online connectivity once I was done.

A few days ago my daughter had a friend over and they wanted to play the ps3. They was prompted to update the system for some reason, and since I wasn't home to ask if it was ok to do so, they went ahead and updated.

Now my ps3 is on OFW v4.11........ very.... sad.... panda!

So now I have to reformat my system to get rid of all the games I had on the internal hdd. (And the homebrew I don't want sony knowing about.) What I want to know is, is there a way I can save and backup all the information I want to keep? Like my save game files, trophies, etc...

Thanks guys. One day (many years from now?) some one will crack the ps3 wide open and I'll be able to get my homebrew back. I am really going to miss showtime media player. Till then I'm stuck with the sh**y ps3 media server. What I really need is a home theater pc.

In XMB under settings>system settings>data transfer utility I believe is what will do that for you, I mean thats what is was on 3.55 OFW anyway.

PS thats why I always get my homebrew on my PC and never connect my PS3 to the internet

The data transfer utility is for moving files from one ps3 to another.

I was going to use the the backup utility that is under system settings, but after seeing it was going to take 12 hours to complete I decided not. Also with the backup utility I don't know what files it was going to save and which it doesn't. So there is no guarantee it will not save the games I had on the hdd.

So I just went ahead and formatted the hdd after I saved all my music, photo, and video files.

    Thanks for the help.
