I also have a 1st gen fat & a first gen TB not having same problem, but what do you mean by "(No Light)"?
Sorry, Indicator Lights on the Back of TB.
I Have 2 TB, 1st gen and 3rd gen(default fw v.2.51).
My PS3 Run With No Problem when using the 3rd gen TB(v.2.61), but auto shutdown when using 1st gen(v.2.61)
@fennes: my 1st gen TB has a red & green indicator light (green is just faint & hard to see), about the off after 15 min it could just be the dongle going out (known to happen) my first Cobra only lasted a little over 3 months
@Piratan: if it's a 1st gen TB there's a very good chance it's not a clone

I See. So My 1st gen TB Stuck with fw v.2.51, Because It Run Perfectly on That Fw Version.
but that seems to be what is happening with the clones.
just sayin'
Indeed, does sound like "clone" behavior (aka odd effects/shudown/format).
Note: im not questioning your dongle is real or not .. as i understand: you woundnt be able to update to 2.61 on a clone at all.
Just using straight forward logic here: could be a game patch issue as the game mentioned is (i think) one of the "clone checking" patched games that require v2.51 cfw/dongle. As no one really know what these "clone checking" games looks for (hard/software?) is probably safest to stick to the v2.51 when playing these games.

From the official site (link can be found in the FAQ sticky in this forum).
Well, not if you stick to only play older v2.50 compatible games
But you definately should think of update to at least 2.51 .. simply as the newer games has the noughty "clone check" in them and if you accidentally run one of those and arnt on 2.51 .. well no knows what the "clone check" checks for. Logically it should only check the hardware .. but logically i should also be safe walking in traffic .. so who know what happens if you try to launch a 2.51 game on 2.50 cfw/dongle. So cover all your bases and upgrade to 2.51 (or higher).
Yeah, it's me Dj Barth "One TrueBlue to rule them all, One Browser to find them,
One TB CFW to bring them all and in the Internal HDD bind them
In the Land of BarthMordor where Modding lie"
nope
because I know two guys that have the same problem with TB ver.2.61 and their console is also NTSC/J region.
one of them has 320 gb slim model and the other one has a FAT one.
