Can't React DLC After Rebuild Database

I'm on TB CFW v2 with 2.62 dongle update So yesterday somethig happened to my PS3 and it had to rebuild the database and of course I lost my DLC, saves, All the games on my internal and my user accounts. Now I can't get the DLC to reactivate. I created my main user and then the "aa" user for reactpsn so that I could obtain the act.dat that is created, I simply just ran react for that no raps or anything. But when I sign into the react user I get the the error 80028 COB in the upper right hand corner which I think is corrupt rap or something. Is this why I'm having the problem with the react process. I followed the tut by Patrick Batman which worked earlier yesterday. Or maybe do I need to patch the vsh? If so I found a TB VSH. Also I did fresh install of cygwin just in case. I've tried everything I can think of but haven't tried to patch the VSH wasn't sure if it would cause an issue if it was already patched. Thanks for the help

I'm pretty sure that the 80028C0B error has something to do with not having ever logged into PSN before, but I could be wrong about that.

Here are some things you should check:

-You said that after the rebuild that you ran react to get act.dat, but without any raps in usb:/exdata. You probably need the raps in /exdata so that act.dat can be updated and the .rifs can be generated. Even if you are using rap2rif, the reactpsn account needs to update act.dat with your raps.

-When you are on XMB, if you go to log into PSN, does it say "sign up"? If so, you might need to sign your account up with PSN but don't actually log in. This is another way to get an act.dat.

I don't think that you need to use a patched vsh.self - it's risky to use since dev_blind is modified and it shouldn't be necessary.

With the vsh that is why I didn't do it, but Thanks will try what u suggested and let u know I pretty sure that I did try with raps in the exdata folder on usb. Thanks again will report back
I guess I should ceate a new user to try and get act.dat by signing up for psn

Yet again try what xfcrowman posted, your act.dat was wiped by rebuild database im sure. Once you get an act.dat working again always back itup so you dont run into these problems, preferably off the ps3.

I still can't get the dlc to activate I've tried everything I know. I even got my old act.dat from other hard drive(80gb I upgraded to 1 TB) still nothing. I'm at my wits end here. I don't understand why it will not work I even pathed vhs.

If your rif files have not been activated by this old act.dat then they wont work. If you have tried making rifs from this act.dat from raps that would work only if the hard drive with the act.dat was the same exact console with same exact firmware.

Act.dat is console/firmware specific with IDPS etc. You need an act.dat from your current setup your using. You can try the PSN log in trick. Sign up for PSN fillout info, then XMB PSNshould say sign in (since you already signed up) but dont sign in. that should give you an act.dat

You could also try the old act.dat with rap2rif but like I said if the act.dat and current console info dont match it wont work.

thanks I'm going to give it another go tomorrow and see what happens. I did the sign up for psn but no act.dat.

Is your internet connected to ps3 when trying to sign up? because i think it has to be just dont sign in. What do you mean reactPSN puts act.dat in cygwin, reactPSN is on PS3 cygwin on PC how would it do that, you'd have to manually put it in there from ps3.

Dlc is not there? in cygwin? it shouldnt be in cygwin just the raps you convert rifs. DLC.pkgs arent used in cygwin (for rap2rif) only raps (the DLC raps for instance) then converted to rifs. DLC is used on PS3, not cygwin.

Well since you have an act.dat in cygwin you say and are making rifs in there as well copy those rifs to ps3 in dev_hdd0/home/00000X folder, copy the act.dat in cygwin to ps3 dev_hdd0/home/00000X folder as well.

Then install DLC.pkg(s) (that came with those rap files you converted) on PS3, then try the game. Some games also requires updates before they will recognize the DLC like FAllout 3 needs the 1.31 game update patch and Dead Space 2 1.02 patch
