AC:Revelations problem

Apologies if this has already been answered before, whenever I load up AC:Revelations discless from external hdd it starts to install game data every time. I'm using the latest dongle update and TB CFWv2, ripped from retail disc. Thanks in advance.

Did you delete PKGDIR (AC 1) in PS3_GAME? Also does it do this when playing with a disc in? If you didnt delete PKGDIR first that has a big file that wont fully install on external and may have prevented other necessary files from installing afterwards.

Not tried with disc in but yes I did delete the PKG file, I will try with disc then post the result, thanks for the reply.

Did you delete it before putting the game on external? Also is this the US or EU version?

I ripped straight to external then deleted the PKG file, it's the retail EU version.

You should make sure all your files are on external if this still happens, put in the disc open multiman file manager and compare that everyfile is there and is the same size (besides PKGDIR, swapped PARADOX files and PS3_UPDATE folder of course) if a file isnt on external or is a different size you can just copy it over in file manager, no need to rerip whole disc.

all files look same, I still haven't tried with disc yet but was wondering if there is a discless solution because my mates bluray drive doesn't work anymore. This problem isn't in the game compatibility list so..

Perhaps thats why it keeps uninstalling because of the broken blu ray drive. Theres no discless solution for you that I know of because it already works discless. No one else has reported this problem.

On old games you could make a pkg file and play discless from XMB, I dont think you can do this with true blue eboots however.

Just to clarify the game data already is installed but everytime i load it, it installs a copy of the game data again, it has two copies of same data.

well im sured you tried but uninstall them both, then boot game and let it install again. I played it discless all the way through and this never happened, so it seems its the broken bluray drive. Like the game doesnt detect it so it installs everytime. idk really.\

This did however happen to me with Deux Ex, will it just keep every install or just 2? oh yeah one more thing do you have the empty ASSASSIN_ISO folder in USRDIR?
