I just try Max Payne 3 ON line and it works.
Install updating after replace the EBOOT pro FTP.

When you enter the game already installed the update that will tell you what is available.
After you exchange the EBOOT in dev_HDD0/game/your game version/PS3_GAME/USR DIR.
Its works. I'm online right now.

patch the game with the TB eboot etc.
play it and update it, when it first comes on
then re-patch it with the TB eboot after updating it
