BREAKING NEWS: Aspiring Wannabe Hacker 'Zadow' has just been debunked by the toughest scene developers for his 'Cobra Gift'!
For those of you that have not been following the PS3 scene recently because of the scene drama, and just came back because of the recent amazing improvements to the PS3 like the PSN-enabling 4.11 spoofer by Team Rebug and Mr. DongleBreaker (aka) 'oct0xor' amazing work in cracking the PS3UserCheat dongle, suddenly thought we were on roll when news broke yesterday of PS3HAX apiring hacker named zadow28 (aka) 'Zadow' had reverse-engineered the much hated DRM dongle called 'Cobra-USB' that has proven to one of the toughest snakes out there, failing many an attempt to crack it.
Well guess what it is still uncracked. -- After much digging thru the 77meg RAR that was Zadow's Gift, it turns out to be nothing more then a bunch of already existing info, and his IDA Pro logs of trying to debug the payload and firmware updater system. -- Plus some info on how 'mmCM' (aka) 'multiMAN' does it system core updates also. -- Really not very usefull to anyone, and it will not allow even the best mind in porting over the info to other devices, or even in making the needed patches to produced a new CFW with the Cobra features built-in. -- If you don't believe me, try reading these posts below:

I have been contacted since then by several veterans of the PS3 scene, who told me these files are, in essence, garbage.
They didn’t explicitly tell me the word “fake”, but rather, it seems the files posted by Zadow are basically useless information, which in addition has been publicly available for a while. None of them told me “where” that information actually can be found, which for now I interpret as “it is so useless that we will not even bother to tell people where they can find the information in the first place”.
I do not have the tools, the knowledge, or the time to confirm if Zadow28 is a fraud, but I can say I am seeing a pattern I’ve seen in the past on the psp and the vita scene: unknown guy gets semi famous by posting lots of garbage that looks like the real deal, famous devs call him out for a faker, random people start some conspiracy theories about old devs trying to get all the credits, other random people tell the old devs that they should collaborate with the new guy instead of bashing him, old devs have a hard time explaining that it is impossible to collaborate with a dude who has the IQ of a banana. (I’ve been through that so I know how people like kakaroto feel.
So, if I’m to choose a side, I’ll go and trust the old dudes. If they say it’s useless, I guess they’re right.

I do not know who incepted this thread with nonbased remarks about Atmel AVR/Micochips PIC, but they should look closer to the content and what is needed for such target. There is nothing AVR/PIC related inside the filesets, just plain unself/ungpkg'ed files which where ran through IDA and exported i64/db files. It also does not make any sense to even /want/ it as a dongle, because if you have the PPU/SPU changes, it would make alot more sense to distribute it as patches (MFW Builder TCL) or live patcher: payload (payloader3) then a stupid dongle.

I had a big long email started (about halfway done) detailing every file in there and just gave up due to the number of things that were junk.
Mostly, it looks like files we already have, unselfed eboot.bins (congratulations on using unself or scetool), a corrupt ida database, some meaningless/worthless logs and who knows what else.
I did look at the corrupt idb to make sure it actually "looked like"an idb. It actually did at a glaqnce--- so atleast it's not like the last time and he was trying to pass off a linux binary as lv0 decrypted or some crap like that.... oh wait... he did do that, didn't he @defyboy .
Probably a better use of my time if I stopped dissecting the gift any ways.

Why do I constantly find things newsed as a release when it's just copies of the stuff the developers made available on the wiki long ago. This isn't a gift for developers, it's another cry for attention. The developers either already have this stuff, or know exactly where to get it.
I am very sad looking at all news sites about ps3...
...when they keep posting any "shocking" news about such noobs as @zadow28 and exposing him as the greatest hacker in the world
There is also a ton of tweets from 'KDSBest' and 'KaKaRoToKS' about this release, and many other old-time 'scene' developers debunking his 'Gift', now of course there is many that believe it is all a cover-up, he found something infact useful in cracking the Cobra, and they are just trying to protect whomever sold-out and coded the device, so if you still want to play around with what is now being called 'Zadow's UseLess Gift', here are the links to the files, but you will also need to install IDA Pro on your PC and have some good background solid understanding of how it works and how PS3 PPU/SPU coding operates!
So Have fun! -- Don't say we didn't warn you! -- Now what side of this story will you believe, and when will the 'scene' drama end for the PS3?
seems it won't work with my pranksteravr says unable to import payload
Yeah it not plug&play yet. -- It takes someone with IDA Pro to study these files, and re-write them to other devices.
Problem is alot of those guru's that were handy in doing payloads and porting back in the days of PSGroove, PSFreedom, have left the scene and moved on since the end of the 3.41 days, and I doubt they are going to just re-appear and help us out with these files.
And most users now floating around the PS3 scene are just plain normal average gamers, no coding skills or time willing to invest in finishing this project.
We will have to wait it out and see whom's going to pick up the now unlocked puzzle pieces and build it for other devices.

anyone know if a n ipod 5g video running rockbox has the ability to run this? im not asking if there is a compiled payload im just asking if the hardware would support it ,i dont see why not
and does this mean we could see some new cfw that can use this and a Tb dongle without having to use 2 different fw?
