Resistance 3 Install Data

I guess someone messed up a whole batch of Resistance 3 BD-Rs because I just received mine yesterday and it doesn't show up in the XMB either.

When I put the disc in, the XMB starts moving slowly, like it is trying to access the disc but it fails.
I was thinking of downgrading to a lower dongle firmware (2.51) and then testing out the disc. Has anyone else tried this?

This whole thing really irritates me. I was quite happy to get the disc after 3+ weeks of waiting, only to find that it is defective

Yes, the same problem, slox xbmc, and no disc.
Try to downgrade, and write me, please, if it work, but i think this is a problem with disk.
U try to refund?
u think lightake do this, or resend another bd?

I haven't contacted lightake yet but I'm sure that they will work something out with me - hopefully they will just send me another disc.

I will downgrade to 2.51 when I get home from work and I will let you know if the disc works. However, I doubt that this is our problem - I'm sure its just a bad batch of BD-Rs.

It really irritates me that I even have to go through with this since the damn eboot for resistance 3 could be resigned for 2.7 and then released. I finally gave in and paid the extra $9 for this game, only to receive a defective disc 3 weeks later.


EDIT: I just sent them an email (service@lightake.com) and let them know about my situation. I asked for an exchange for a working copy, or for a refund if possible. I'll let you know what they tell me.

Yes i write at lightake support, and Tina ask me id paypal and order number, now i'm waiting a new email, i need this games.
When lightake sent me an email, and i have news, write here, for information.

did you tried to downgrade ? have this worked? or lightake are sending bad discs? i am trying to settle with them

Yes, i admit, resistance 3 bdr is a nasty disc. I found 3 method, long time ago, to makeit work:
1 load an other tb bdr, exit, put out , instert resistance 3, will load properly
2 load an original disc, exit, put resistance, will work
3 put,eject,put,eject,put,eject. start mm, exit. eject, put.

Boring, but works. It's random, fifa do it too, rarely, pes too. dunno why.

i have buy 2 copy, i have try this on 3 ps3, and all have the same problem, not read.
In the case i can read disk, i can copy to hard disk and start from it?
or this game work only from bd-special (if lightake one day, sent me one good copy....)?

Must be played from disc and the reason a lot have troubles with this is it is a dual layer BDR and weaker lasers will struggle in accessing the date.

OK, I suggest you guys try to downgrade to a lower dongle firmware (2.51) and then test out the BR disc again; If the disc is really defective just contact our customer service for a replacement.

C'mon lightake, stop to ask to try this, and try that, you have try to:

Take Ps3 and launch in the air, as he flies to enter the BR on the flight to stop the ps3 exactly 5 cm above the ground, everything on the fly, press L1 R2 L3 R3 pad on the UP, DOWN, RIGHT, RIGHT, AND TURN ON CONTEMPORARY XBOX60 AND WII (step fundamental), shouting BD WORK, I AM NOT tHAT ARE ABLE, and launch the game, I assure you that this works .....

I try all, TB downgrade, eject put eject put, put original and after put bd special, with multiman, without, on my ps3, on other ps3, with my TB, with other TB, NOT WORKING THE DISK IS BAD COPY.

Instead of asking for things to buyers, if you are a serious site, simply return the working copies, FREE, as it's your fault, not the buyer, testing them before sending them, and copying of records valid, not the bulk-bd of two cents ......

Thanks Jerry for the info. I am in contact with Tina and I'm sending her a video to demonstrate that the disc doesn't work. There are still a few things I need to try (dongle downgrade, barth's suggestions) and of course if those work I will report my results here.
