ps3 Options for CFW on FAT model

Hello, I have a fat ps3, model CECHL04 (NOR) with 4.11 firmware. I have stopped following news about CFWs for some time and I could not found an updated guide. So my questions:

1)Which flasher is better for downgrade?
2)Is there anyway to have dual firmwares?

    Thank you

    1. Based on what most of the people have said with regards to downgrade solutions, ProgSkeet is the way forward, although some people have used the E3 Flasher.

    2. Seeing as your PS3 is a NOR-based flash memory with 16MB of storage, you're far less restricted in terms of flasher choices than with PS3 owners who have a NAND-based memory with 256MB of storage, so for dual-booting, you can go for the E3 flasher with dual-booting support as it is known to support that, and if I recall correctly, you can do so with the Progskeet too.

Having said that though, I'm not really savvy when it comes to PS3 Downgrading/Dual-Booting mods - master737373 is the most savvy member in that area.

Thank you for your reply, I have checked the link and they say that when I want to change firmwares I have to update and reflash( for downgrading). I think that with e3 flasher I can swap frimwares faster, is that the case?

From what I heard, that is the case, but then again, I haven't downgraded/dual-boot-modded a PS3 before nor I have extensive knowledge in that area, so I can't say this from personal experience unfortunately.

You don't need to update the PS3 to downgrade. You're downgrading, not updating. You have a NOR console, so if you don't want to solder, then E3 is your route. I don't like E3 because it has a lot of faults. Progskeet it good. I haven't seen a progskeet dual-boot set for nor. E3 has it thought. Progskeet it faster though. You get speeds of 1MB/s.

I wanted dual boot so I can play some games online. Is there anyway with custom firmware to play (original) games online?

I am tending toward E3. I also need to buy another hard disk. Are there any limitations to the capacity of the disk? Should i get a 5400 or 7200 rpm? I know 7200 is faster but the price is almost double. Will i see any significan difference in speed or it doesn't worth the extra money?

You wouldn't really see that much of a difference. It's milliseconds to second differences. Nothing major. If I remember correctly, 750GB is the largest, but it could be 1TB. 2.5" sata. Same as laptop HDDs.

Could you explain what kind of faults E3 has?

A manual that isn't clear, if you're trying to debrick with the solderless clip, you still have to solder. It's not "true" dual nor. Just to name a few.
