Trying to play Saint's Row 3 original disc (version 1.0.0.1) using Phoenix instead of steam activation. Of course, the discs are missing files needed to play with steam. They are downloaded with the activation. I have the sk!dr0w cr2c|< only, but still missing two files:
saints row the third binaries.ncf .1mb
saints row the third main.ncf 2.1mb
The main game environment loading screens cycle indefinitely. Anyone know if those files are necessary to play using Phoenix steam emulator or just with actual steam?
Missing textures in some cinematics and in instant action mode so probably one or more of the pack files need to be replaced. Friends have kindly offered their premium accounts for downloading the entire skidrow release, but my connection is too slow. It would be nice if I could download just the missing/changed files; so far only found dead links for the ncf's. As long as the game works, I don't care about dlc or updates. Never had a game that required steam; last game I played on pc was gta4 cause of all the online bs needed for single player.
