Try to reread it again and tell me what exactly is a lie or not right in my explanation, compared to this IRC log.
I was surprised by Square's attitude towards me - we always had ZERO problems and this comes as a real surprise. I never had a DEX and never wanted one - we talked about that last year when he bought one.
Actually I don't understand what is that he calls a 'lie' from my post what dex can and can't do - read again that IRC log - I see no good news in it - on the contrary all in that chat log is basically THE SAME as my explanation.
Weird.
I let other people read that post of yours and they felt there was some misdirection spun in it - whether it was intentional or not I can only hazard to guess - they thought the same about an earlier post you made months ago concerning some other related subject.
And to tell the truth yes, I really felt your post combined with that of evilsperm was basically trying to dissuade people from even looking into this or using it - if that was not the intent then I will apologize, but looking at all the other usual suspects that have come out of the woodwork the past few days (some of them even crying in private about 'now I can't update beyond [insert FW] here, and Sony will silent update - thanks a lot to the leaker bastard!!!') - I don't think I'm wrong about this - it looks like a spade, feels like a spade, so I'll call it a spade.
Also - with regards to evilsperm - just releasing a PSN passphrase at the very end of the month just because you knew somebody was intending on selling it off to True Blue and just because you know it will be changed at the end of the month anyway when you've had this for months on end - just feels like throwing useless breadcrumbs to the proles. Seems like anything that is worth something is getting whored and hoarded in this scene - and I'm not the only one who has that impression either. Most of them are just disgusted by it all and have left - they think I'm wasting my time for still making posts about this subject because it isn't gonna change anyway).
What were you all using your DEXes for, and to what end? Not much happening in terms of stuff being publicly released- seems most of it boiled down to - 'there are three ways to pirate' indeed - so how hypocritical to deride end-users for wanting to do the same.
With regards to deank - I have had no problems with you in the past and I appreciate the help you provided to me at several points but I feel that you should refrain from making 'authoritative posts' about what something can and cannot do - especially when you admit yourself you don't own any such device and therefore cannot know for sure. Just quoting 'but it takes a fair amount of work to pull off' and leaving it at that - well, to look at one of the listed methods - payloads don't write themselves - they didn't write themselves on CEX either.
Final comment - I have no issue with either Evilsperm or Deank and I do not wish to stir up fights. But if you'll excuse me, I'm tired of this crap going down in this scene with the half truths, the 'behind closed IRC doors' shenanigans where a 'release' is just a cover for 'punking' True Blue and releasing it intentionally at the end of the month so the end-users get little use out of it, and also these comments to the tune of 'oh you don't know what nasty consequences this will have' - like what? You can no longer update to the latest DEX firmware? Who gives a shit - that's your problem - and it wasn't yours to begin with, so why bother crying about it? You were supposed to use this thing to code in the first place - what good does the latest firmware update do you other than being able to play the newest games?
And E3 is more of the same really - first a 'solution' is arrived at to play newer games on CFW 3.55, then they go 'shopping' for 'security people to put some DRM in it'. Excuse me that I'm disgusted by a scene like that - I'm happy that you guys like it all that much.

The thing is (you know the drill) most people feel "forced" into buying them (some actually dislike it but still have such a dongle for gaming-related reasons) for their PS3 gaming needs - alternatively, they could've changed their gaming platform of choice, but they won't due to certain reasons like console exclusives et cetera.
