C2D Released: CEX to DEX Flash patcher for 16mb NOR PS3's

Scene developer 'andbey0nd' has released an easy-to-use method to do an CEX to DEX conversion for those wishing to switch up their 16mb NOR PS3's to the next level of hacking power.

Requires:

• OpenSSL 1.0.1 installed in c:\openssl or d:\openssl (http://slproweb.com/download/Win32Op...ght-1_0_1c.exe)
• EID root key (per_console_key) obtained with metldrpwn
• CEX (NOR) flash dump
• Extract c2d.rar in a local folder (c:\c2d or d:\c2d)

Usage:

• c2d.exe eid_key_file.bin in_cex_flash.bin out_dex_flash.bin

Output:

c:\c2d> c2d.exe eid_root_key.bin flashCEX.bin flashDEX.bin

EID key : 48 bytes (eid_root_key.bin)
Flash size : 16 MB (flashCEX.bin)
Target ID : $85
EID ROOT KEY: 64D20967DEACDA16ACADBE289B0EE2C25EE77331A5040C5DC9DF67B3FE574F6D
EID ROOT IV : 6BD7C324D3B213A647DC31987345595E

PLEASE NOTE: REMEMBER even tho this tool makes it easier to convert your black box to DEX it is still not something for NOOBIES to try out, it is always a RISK even for the most experienced user, and you must have valid DUMP using a Progskeet or E3 Flasher, and means to restore your PS3 16mb NOR if things go WRONG during the CEX 2 DEX conversion process!

As a savety measure to prevent bricks the tool wont produce any output if not valid .. so no fear ..

btw. you can also use memtool, flashdump.pkg or flashdump feature of MM to create a valid NOR backup ..

The only thing you need the flasher for is in case you brick (which is highly unlikely if the dex output is valid)
