i've been reading about C2D conversion since the leak, i want to convert my ps3 to DEX but i don't have an usb KB. What i want to know is if there is a way to run metldrpwn without the need of an usb KB, like: on screen keyboard, telnet server --does Red Ribbon comes with it? -- or any other way?
I've asked this on other site forums, but nobody answered. Now i decided to annoy the members from here.
Sorry if offtopic. Thanks. Sorry for my english.
Yes, you can use "ssh" from your PC to the PS3 but without a keyboard you can't navigate in petitboot. Don't be so cheap!

I'm still searching if it's possible to backup my savestrophies and restore them after converting do dex =[. Sorry if i'm being annoying
You can backup your PS3 using the tools in Settings. If you can't restore them in DEX mode you can always go back to CFW and restore all that you have.

I don't think there is a single game that requires 4.20 (or 4.11 or 4.10 for that matter). Game-disc-production process takes months and I don't see that happen, since the Firmware update appeared just few weeks ago.
Hey, easy there Dean.I am not blaming you for nothing, I said It was my fault, that I did something wrong some where and just dont know...
regardless, I never was able to goto recovery menu. I didn't get pass the reboot part.
My first attempt with no clear information lead me to the same while I was doing cex->dex so I have a brick, too. That's why I tried to put the tutorial so folks can follow it and hoping most will avoid being over-confident after their cex->dex and will still follow the steps to go back to CEX. I did it using the tutorial and I didn't rush or skip steps and I'm back on KMEAW. Conclusion - it works if you don't rush things.

When you make your initial dump of your flash with multiman to USB. Is it suppose to show up on PC? Through multiman I can see that it is on the USB. but when i plug in the USB to pc it is not there. I can however FTP it from the USB to the computer.

It's there It's marked as a system file, so you have to change your folder options in windows to be able to see it.
