I bought 1 of these also but right now I'm using a ps2chiper
Really they are still very plentiful and for around or under $20, just do a search in ebay for the name like AT90USB162 and match them up with what the specs are from the hex and the site.
Here are the hex I shared before and a pic to go with them.
just wanna say you have all been very welcoming & helpful
will let you no how i get on when it arrives....
edit: has it been confirmed that the syscon hash checks are causing the bricks mentioned earlier in the thread? has anyone tried again yet?
and.... does anyone know why the ps3jig by brandon won't work? does it only work specifically for cex f/w, i am a bit confused? i have never used it before so don't know if it works anyhow, but when it bricked it was the first thing to hand.....

Yes you can use this for sure, but it doesn't use the Teensy app, you have to use FLIP for Atmel chips found here. Super easy.
You'll also need the hex named psgrade_minimus_at90usb162_16.hex found in the collections of hex shared above.
Just download the FLIP software from Atmel's web site and load your HEX code. To enter the bootloader mode on the board, you should simply press and hold HWB button while FLIP is open, then press and release the RST button. HWB and RST are clearly marked on the board itself. Virtually no room for error. To easy.
