Is it possible to go back to CEX from 4.20 DEX? I know special care needs to be taken when going from 3.55 DEX. Is the procedure the same after downgrading 4.20 -> 3.55 using special PUP, or there is no coming back without a hardware flasher?
Very few have had success in the dex>cex switch including me......
How you are going to go about the dex>cex switch i do not know, as a fail safe way has not been confirmed to my knowledge yet.
If you look through previous post there has been talk of syscon hash checks so the best way i think will be to use rogero's lastest dex f/w (i cannot confirm this as i have not tried)
edit: can you let us know which method you tried & if you was successful, as i will having another go in the next week when i get some free time

Hey guys. I've been following dean's tutorial to convert CEX to DEX this afternoon. All went well - petitboot, linux, etc. - until the part where we dump the eEID0.bin.
I've had no success so far in doing a proper dump. Everytime I do those commands in the terminal, all I get is a zero-filled dump_eEID0.bin, and I don't know why. Someone asked right after dean posted his tutorial if he was supposed to replace the metldr file in the metldrpwn folder with his own, to which dean said yes he had to. In my case, I don't even have a metldr file in said folder.
So, long story short, why do I keep getting a zero filled eEID dump? Which files are supposed to be present in the metldrpwn folder and which ones do I need to replace with my own? Extracting the zip dean uploaded in his tutorial, I have inside that folder:
