Yes, it seems all ok. I have to add that if the console was previously downgraded (from 3.56+) the QA flagging must be done with rogero's FW and the qa-toggle.pkg -> http://www.ps3devwiki.com/files/flas.../toggle_qa.pkg

yeah thanks, Actually yeah I did downgrade from 3.56 to 3.55 with a dongle I had. Glad I asked first.
i used the otherOS SPecial pup and the QA Toggle Special.pkg
EDIT-
I guess using CFW355-OTHEROS++-SPECIAL.PUP does not clear the hashes. but it is indeed QAed. I can bring up the debug menu.
which one of Rogero's CFW should I use during this, I ask because he has a few.
I found Rogero_CFW_V34_KmeawLV2_LV1Patches_4.20spoof_PSN-access_NoBD.PUP (long name) on the dev wiki. that one the one with the golden ticket?

The Rogero's Fail-Safe PUP mentioned above is your safest bet by a long shot!
How Do i downgrade from 4.20 DEX... to 3.55 DEX.. I try from "Go to system and update your PS3 through "Update via Storage Media".. but get Error "8002F953!

Is it safe to convert back from dex to cex if yes which method should i follow bcoz there two different methods in one i have to turn of the console after flashing the file with MM to flash the cex 3.55 fw from recovery and in the other i have to flash cex 3.55 from xbm without turning of the console bcoz it can cause brick if i turn off the console after flashing the file from MM.
Which file i have flash with multiman for converting back to cex.i have the back of these two files which i have made before using the cex2dex app
when you format your HDD to do the emulator thing, has there been anybody that has formatted their HDD back to fat32 or what ever it was before? Friend said he can not get his computer to recognize the hdd.

You should have the following in hand:
- Official DEX 3.55 firmware PUP with Downgrade Support/Rogero DEX 3.55 v2 firmware PUP [3.55+ DEX Downgrader, NoBD, install retail PKG, LV1, Peek & Poke] [recommended]
- multiMAN 04.04.04 (use this whilst on DEX 3.55)
- Your flash dump (e.g. 20120729-215658-FLASH-NOR-FW3.55.NORBIN)
1. Install either PUP mentioned above (Rogero's one recommended as a fail-safe measure) if you are NOT on DEX 3.55
2. Install multiMAN if you haven't installed it nor you have version 04.04.04, as version 04.04.04 has improved flash memory-writing capabilities
3. In mmOS, select the flash dump, and follow the prompts/instructions
4. Exit multiMAN to XMB (DO NOT SHUTDOWN/RESTART the console via multiMAN at all)
5. Shutdown the console via the XMB and NOT VIA PRESSING THE POWER BUTTON
6. Restart the console by pressing the POWER BUTTON
7. Install any CEX 3.55 PUP via XMB (KMEAW is the most popular one, and Rogero's 3.55 v3.4 CEX PUP is only ideal for FSM-recoverable-bricking purposes - http://www.ps3crunch.net/forum/threa...6086#post46086 & http://www.ps3crunch.net/forum/threa...5938#post45938), follow the instructions, and make sure that you uncheck "Turn off system after update".

What do you mean exactly by "when you format your HDD to do the emulator thing"? I assume that you meant that when you reformat your HDD on the PS3 to create an OtherOS partition, and then reformat it on the PC, right? If so, then you can only access it via Disk Management, as the PS3 HDD is encrypted by default, thus you cannot access the files, so you would then need to format it via Disk Management and then follow the instructions.
nah, I got a call from a friend and he said his computer would not recognize his external hdd, he was going to format it back. he originally formatted it with the ps3 to use with ps3gen. but now he wanted to format it back, but it is not showing up for him to have the option.
I don't know since I have not done it so I was seeing if anyone else has or if he is just being dumb.
