if any kind sole could point me to a good tutorial for cex to dex, im a bit late on the bandwagon. there just seems to be to much info on the web and i dont want to f##k up my ps3.
ive got a blackcat dongle incase i semi-brick just want do it right
can i use memdump.pkg to get my nor.bin then use that with cex2dex. or do i need to go linux route
Also, once you've installed a DEX 3.55 (I've used the official Sony one WITHOUT the Downgrade Support at first as there's two different ones) firmware, you can upgrade to the latest one, and then downgrade back to 3.55 with the official DEX 3.55 (Downgrade Support) firmware (all of which are on PS3DevWiki) and as well as that, you no longer need to do the CEX-to-DEX process via Linux, thus saving you time AND bypassing the need to reformat your HDD, which is ideal for those who DON'T want to lose any data.
Lastly, to successfully revert back to CEX, make sure your console is QA-flagged, you're using the newer mM versions (CEX VERSIONS ONLY, otherwise you'll get an error) as the flash-writing capabilities are improved, AND as a safety precaution (nobody says this in their tutorials, but I do it anyway as a safety precaution), make sure you install/have already installed the official DEX 3.55 firmware WITHOUT the Downgrade Support before going back to CEX.
