CEX2DEX doubt

i started on ps3 scene since it started i have a ps3 40 gig's no backwards with true blue, but doesnt matter i would like to ask some explanations since i read a lot and i still dont get it what are the advantages of CEX2DEX
So here it is:
cex2dex, can someone explain to me what is this really for ? i mean i know what it does but i dont understand what is rly the advantage for end user can it play 3.6x+ games with it? i think no. but i read on a forum that this allows to play newer games is it true or just a troll? i mean i know about it can can run diferent region games but is not worthy not even to have it has debug.
Can someone tell me what really the advantages?

You can run all games that the OFW equavalent can run(via original disc), you can fself homebrew to run on any DEX firmware, with the right PC software you can back up games to an external hd(that your debug will need to format) or even to a disc(I coukd be wrong), you can download back to 3.55 DEX for backup managers without the need of hardware flasher, people with the S**Y wireless headset can now use them on their jailbreak/DEX PS3s

Still not worthy i mean i would like to play resistance 3, the amazing spiderman, man in black 3 and Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City cause there is no patch for them but i will not risk my ps3 because of this games
