I was in Dex Downgrade firmware , clicked the CEX Flash in multiman, then bricked, could not boot into XMB or service mode.

then went to orginal then to Kmeaw

I think all the bricks so far (5 that i know of) are related to DEX2CEX conversions and not CEX2DEX.

Brick Phase:
When converting back to CEX by changing the TargetID and then decided to restart the console, but then the console wouldn't start up.
Brick Fixing Process/Status:
Used a rooted & PSgrade bootloader/recovery image-modded HTC Desire Z to put the PS3 into service mode, and then followed tul/andreus's tutorials for the rollback brick fix, and eventually Rogero's Syscon Hash Reset tutorial for reinstalling KMEAW firmware > STATUS: Console Fixed (will now be trying this again).
Glad you got it Fixed gdrive and thanks for the droid guide. I am sure when people start converting back to cex we will see more and that will be the goto method to fix it for them. Kudos!

No problem - however, the PSFreedom (PSgrade) FSM project seems to have stopped at the devices that are more or less at the end of its market life, and I personally wish that someone would step up the plate and make it available to more devices in the form of a standard application or a universal bootloader/recovery application.

Brick when attempting back to CEX from DEX. I have slow internet connection to download 3.55 DEX downgrader lol. MM won't flash CEX dump. Tried to flash CEX dump with E3 and on half way flashing PS3 beep 3 times end error on E3. Now PS3 brick.
Patch CEX dump with downgrade v2 and flash it on PS3. PS3 boot up normally but with DEX firmware (fix it without using FSM dongle). Installed Rogero v3.1 then OFW 3.55 to check PS3 on CEX.
Patch DEX 3.55 dump with downgrade v2 then flash it to PS3. PS3 on DEX with CEX firmware. Install DEX 3.55 to check it on DEX. Now on DEX 3.55
It seems that most DEX to CEX end up in brick. It would help a lot to put a tutorial on how to go back to CEX from DEX. I don't know much about syscon or hashes. Thanks
