But when I come back to CEX (using the original dump from MM) I have to turn off the PS3 first and then install a CFW CEX

    Is that right?
pretty much, the only thing I want to add is that I want to stress the fact that when you convert back to CEX, you have to turn the PS3 off using the PS3's shutdown menu that you access by holding the home button of the PS3 remote, it is VERY important that you do not turn off the PS3 by switching the power button off or by pulling the power cable. But as long as you keep that in mind then yeah, that is the safest way to switch to DEX.

    CEX - DEX = OK
    DEX - CEX Got brick

    PS3 model #: CECHJ04 ( Fat )
    Original Firmware #: Don't remember. Like 2.xx
    Highest Firmware #: 3.55
    Console QA yes/QA no: no
    CEX Firmware before conversion: 3.55
    DEX Firmware after conversion: 3.55
    Highest Dex Firmware used: 3.55
Final Dex Firmware: Rogero 3.55 DEX V2
Specify Region Changes: 85->82->85 real changes
All CEX Firmwares after conversion: Rogero 3.4 I think, kmeaw to reset syscon hash

Bricked going from Dex - Cex
Rogero DEX v2, Multiman -> CEX flash, didn't reboot started thinking, flashed DEX flash back ok.
But I was missing Blu-ray functionality so I decided to take the risk, flashed CEX flash shutdown,
XMB didn't allow installing CEX firmware so had to shutdown, tried recovery = beep loop.

I used my TI84+ to go to the factory mode, and with Lv2diag.self + Rogero 3.55 3.40 pup if
was able to recover PS3 functionality. Then QA-Flagged + kmeaw, to reset syscon hash.

just something for you guys was going up to dex 4.20 and left my bd hd plugged in the ps3 froze at the restart menu after the firmware has installed and would not respond to anything so i had to pull the plug then it took like 30 seconds to boot back up with the ps3 wave floating in the background for which seemed like ages so if you go up and down dex dont leave your usb plugged in

Do you have a link to a guide on how you used your TI84+ to recover your ps3?

Whoops - I've mentioned what recovery image I've used on the PS3Hax link before I got a two-year ban for "no reason (was specified)" - but here's the quote!

Thanks for the links - I've rooted/flashed the T-Mobile G2 recovery image onto my HTC Desire Z so that I can unbrick my PS3 as a result of the DEX-to-CEX roll-back.

    Just 1 Q after read everyone's post...

It is true that it only does semi bricks? Which means I can use my old school minimus to unbrick again? No need for E3 flasher etc?
