Just 1 Q after read everyone's post...

It is true that it only does semi bricks? Which means I can use my old school minimus to unbrick again? No need for E3 flasher etc?

It's an easy fix, yes. However the HDD will be formatted so make sure to backup everything.

So i managed to brick my system, just prior to the brick, my ps3 wasnt able to boot directly from just useing the power button, i had to HOLD the power button down til the first beep(5 seconds) and then it would give me the resolution screen where i would choose hdmi(i read somewhere that it had to do with the hardware intrernally coming "lose" or something along those lines... i got my maximus board with the service mode payload, it reads it just fine, but when it reboots, it wont reboot because of said issue and still cycles with the beeps, any ideas?

Bricked going from Dex - Cex
I was in Dex Downgrade firmware , clicked the CEX Flash in multiman, then bricked, could not boot into XMB or service mode.
Beeps 8 times

Used E3 reader with rogero nobd pup
then went to orginal then to Kmeaw

Guys Need some advice. Whats the chance of me bricking when going to back to CEX for my ps3. Here are my ps3 details :

Original Firmware #: 3.2x
Highest Firmware #: 3.55 kmeaw , lv2 patch v9
CEX Firmware before conversion: 3.55 cfw kmeaw
DEX Firmware after conversion: straight to 4.21 DEX from 3.55 cfw kmeaw

Console QA - YES? I ran toggle_qa.pkg instead of the advised qa_flag.pkg
I pressed all the combinations, heard the beep, and saw the debug menu and eddy viewer thingy - this means my ps3 QA'd right? Or will i be bricking after converting back to CEX cause i didnt use the qa_flag.pkg. Need some help here.

Final Dex Firmware - Right now I still on 4.21, planning to use the 3.55 downgrade dex pup before going back to CEX 3.55 kmeaw. What is the best pup to use before going back without bricking? Rogero V2 or this downgrade pup?

*Notes . I got my nor dump using MMCm inbuilt dumper.

Guys pls give some opinions. Will I brick?

Firmware Flashing Sequence - install 3.55 kmeaw CEX > original 4.21 dex > 3.55 dex downgrader > 3.55 original dex > 3.55 kmeaw CEX - using system update, usb thumbdrive

I noticed all successful conversion from DEX > CEX happened when you guys went from some higher dex versions to 3.55 dex downgrader then over to 3.55 original dex / rogero 3.55 cfw dex.

So guys THIS MUST BE IT . You need to flash 3.55dex downgrader first, followed by some 3.55 original or 3.55 custom dex firmware. And then you can go back to any 3.55 cex cfw safely.


TOOLS used . multiMAN_ver_04.06.02 CEX for dumping my flash dump and flashing it back.

What i did from start to finish

1. install 3.55 kmeaw on a new 2.5 inch hdd.
2. Installed kmeaw l2 patch v9
3. Installed toggle_qa.pkg. Press all the combinations and saw the debug menu and eddy viewer thingy.
4. Dump my flash using multiman 04.06.02, dump my root key using eEID_RKDumper.pkg , converted it to 355DEX.EID0.NORBIN.BIN and flash in it using multiman 04.06.02
5. Ps3 rebooted and installed 4.21 original dex using system update - Success
6. Downgraded to 3.55 dex using the 3.55 downgrader .pup using system update - Success
7. Installed 3.55 original dex using system update - Success
8. Flash back my original multiman dump , after that i quit multiman and shutdown ps3 from the xmb
8. Ps3 rebooted and installed 3.55 kmeaw using system update - Success!
9. I noticed my QA debug menu is gone on my 3.55 kmeaw. Pressed L1+L2+R1+R2+L3+ Dpad down and its back again.

I went from 3.55 dex to 4.21 dex downgraded then i installed 3.55 ofw dex before i did my multiman flash....powered off through xmb settings...powered on with button booted up then installed 3.55 Kmeaw. Rebooted and installed 3.55 rebug otheros++

Now im waiting on 4.30 rebug otheros ++ using the downgrader is the key also you HAVE to have QA FLAQ setup
