    PS3 Forgetting Settings

Everytime I turn on my PS3 I have to set the video output (I'm using a HDMI cable) and set the date/time.

Does the internal battery remember all of these and could it need replacing or could it be something else?

Yep, time to replace the small internal battery.

On some models, sadly it is under the big bottom metal shield, so you need to rip apart the whole system, and remove the fan/heatsink, so you have to redo the thermal heatsink compound, before re-assembly. (Those were the first models PS2 compatible, A/B/C/E)

Later models it is right ontop normally as plugin wired round battery under the Blu-Ray drive.

On Slim models it is in a little plastic holder, all tho those it should not be dead yet. -- Batterys should have a min. 5 year life span.
