_Exeedy_ Modified Debug FW 3.55 released

Yet another DEX modified firmware.



Here goes another MD 3.55 firmware. This time _Exeedy_ prepared one if his own with lots of nice features!

MDFW3.55, with the following features:

• Patch LV1 hypervisor
• Allow mapping of any memory area (Needed for LV2 Poke)
• peek/poke support (unused lv1 calls 182 and 183)
• Allow enabling product mode by using Update Manager Write EPROM
• Patch LV2 kernel
• Patch to add Peek&Poke system calls to LV2
• Patch to add LV1 Peek&Poke system calls to LV2 3.55 (LV1 peek/poke patch necessary)
• Patch to add LV1 Call system call to LV2 3.55
• Patch package installer
• Patch to allow installation of pseudo-retail packages
• Patch to allow installation of retail packages on DEX
• Patch VSH for Offline PSN Activator
• Patch to allow activating psn content offline for 3.55 debug
• Add "TV" category to the XMB
• Show TV category in xmb no matter if your country support it.

Please note: This firmware is not fully tested. Use at your own risk. No guarantee expressed or implied. If anything bad happens as a result of installing this system update, you cannot hold anyone responsible but yourself.

MultiMan (MMCM) is fully working and reActPSN should work too.

Also, for the OtherOS version note that Boot_OtherOS.pkg needs to be patched to boot correctly into petiboot and that there are trophy errors.

first of all thanks to Exeedy for his work.
this looks great but with all the fuss that came in the scene suddenly i lost the red line, these are my thougts right now.

we have a dex custom firmware and we can add peek and poke to the 3.55 one because we have the keys to decrypt an encrypt it
but here comes the thing im confused about i read on this forum that dex firmwares let you play any game that you want regardless of wich keys it is decrypted with because it doesnt check at the keys (right?)
so this firmware is the ultimate firmware because you can install the package from team rebug to go online ,react psn works, multiman is fully functional i suppose that means that it can also launch games with his own bdemu. so did we "won" this everlasting battle?

ps: forgive me for my bad english im dutch and probably also for the stupidness of these questions :P

3.56+ games require 3.56+ dex firmware to play. It is possible to upgrade to higher dex firmware, play a game, and downgrade back to 3.55. The extra features present on modified 3.55 dex firmwares are not available on higher dex firmwares (but of course they have the dex features). You don't need hardware to downgrade dex firmwares (so far) but you do for official firmwares (3.56+).

You still need the higher firmwares. The keys aren't for "unlocking" the games, they are for "decrypting" You can bypass the checks in cfw with any spoof, but without the keys the ps3 will not understand how to run the game. Think of it like talking to a person in a secret or foreign language. The keys are like a codec or translator meant to decipher what they are saying so it becomes like they are speaking in your native tongue. Without the codec or translator, you have no idea what they are saying.

okay thanks guys i didnt know that ah now i see it the only way we can do it is to freakerdefrak break that lv0 that we are still stuck with :0 but i heard (read) that the devs of the "inner circle" are preparing one or more releases lets just wait some more xd

Every time I read about the Peek & Poke features and whatnot, I wish they'd try to simplify things for the noobs and try to just list [All Kmeaw 3.55CFW features] or something like that. That makes the list way shorter, so we can really tell what's different about this particular firmware. But oh well. Nobody cares about the noobs. We're just spoiled brats asking for things for free without wanting to give any sort of effort anyway.

right guys first of hello from belfast.i have a ps3 on kmeaw 3.55 which i downgraded to 3.41 to get my root key have all that done and am ready to flash from cextodex.what i would like to know is that i have a few backups on my ps3 already used multiman and would like to know would any of these games be playable after upgrading to itskamel's dex firmware or dex 4.11?
