Brick help?

Hi all,

Sorry for just bursting into your forum and posting a new thread, but you lot here seem to be the only ones who know what they're talking about.

Problem:
I have a FAT PS3 that was on 4.11 DEX.
I have an e3 flasher, and backups all the way (4.2 OFW, 3.55 CFW, DEX).

What happened was, both of my hard drives broke within an hour, I finally have a replacement. I plug in this new one, and the ps3 wont start or anything. Like it's in factory mode. I stupidly get my flash fun on and now it's bricked.
I have tried flashing EVERYTHING. All of my backups, all of my backups patched with v2 downgrader etc. Nothing will work. Not factory mode or anything.

Any ideas?

EDIT: some more info - I verified my OFW and CFW dump and they seemed to be fine. Please ask if there's anything else you need to know.

I have been searching high and low for a solution ...
I used the e3 flasher to get to DEX 4.11, then my HDD broke. I finally got a new one and plugged it in, and my ps3 must have been in service mode at the time, but I could not exit it properly because I was trying to use the CEX lv2diag.self.

I then stupidly started flashing and now I am stuck in a ylod loop. I can get in to flash fun mode because I've soldered the tristate & stuff, and I have NOR backups of 4.2 OFW, 3.55 CEX, and DEX. I have tried the tricks with patching my backups with v2 downgrader, and pro.Hacks tutorial (flashing a working bios in flash fun mode, not turning the ps3 off, and flashing the bios with the e3_downgrader.bin - always gives me a metldr not supported error).

I have also established that when I flash a working backup in FFmode, then back it up, it extracts in flowrebuilder with errors and the resulting folder is empty. I'm not sure if this is due to e3 limitations or a bad flash.

Can anyone help?

So, I joined #ps3downgrade on Efnet, and @satudarah patched my 4.2 OFW backup with the e3 v2 downgrader patches. I flashed that in fun flash mode, and my ps3 stayed on in ps3mode HOWEVER, my USB ports are now dead, or have no power.

Any ideas?

EDIT: I have tried unplugging the e3 board from the system, and unclipping the ribbon from the e3 board because I have heard that once you remove the e3 flasher, the usb ports work again. Didn't work though =[ Unless I lierally have to remove the ribbon cable from the NOR chip ... but I don't see why I would have to =/
