Allright... forgot that part (I played through UC3 right after release but that was it). Darn.
Do you by any chance have a link to the "right" patch at hand? I just stumbled upon a bunch of dead links.

Thanks again. Although I don't really get the instructions.
    (1) Extract all .psarc's into the folder they are already in and then delete them on your HDD.

When you're done it should look like this:

    ..\USRDIR\build\actor33\
    ..\USRDIR\build\bin\dc1\
    ..\USRDIR\build\misc1\
    ..\USRDIR\build\movies1\
    ..\USRDIR\build\pak23\
    ..\USRDIR\build\text1\
    ..\USRDIR\build\vtex1\

    (2) Now, merge included USRDIR folder with the existing one where you extracted your psarcs. OVERWRITE all files when prompted.

    (3) Replace the EBOOT.BIN with the one included.

    (4) Transfer to your PS3, launch in Multiman.
I get the "transfer folders to the PS3 with multiman", I did that. Transfered the folders and the eboot, overwrote what was there already. My problem is with step 1: what does it mean with "extract all .psarcs"? I saw the .psarc files on the PS3 in the folders, but how do I extract them?

You need this it works on PC to extract them. They're much like .rar or .zip files on pc.

I meant more like how to get them on/access them from your pc, but I just assume you need a program to do the connecting/turn the PS3 in a FTP.

If you have the files on an Uncharted 3 disc, then you can either ftp the disc files over to PC (takes longer) if you have the game on an external HD usb you can just plug that straight into the PC to access the files.

I have them on the original disc and on the internal HDD from the PS3. But I don't have any BluRay Drives except for the PS3.

Regular BluRay drives wont read ps3 discs anyway, you need a particular model of drive.

FOR FTP (doing this from memory, bear with me):
get FlashFXP or Filezilla (ftp clients) install one of them on PC.
Plug in ethernet cable from PC to PS3.

ON PC (maybe a little different this is for Windows 7 which I have)
Go to Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections
(or could be under Network and Sharing Center, then change adapter settings)
Right click local area connection (should be unidentified network not your internet connection, itll be the ethernet connection)
pick properties, highlight Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4), pick properties
Pick use the following IP address then type in:
IP address:10.1.1.1, Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0, leave default gateway alone.
Pick use the following DNS server addresses: Preferred 10.1.1.0, Alternate: 10.1.1.100
    Click OK then close.

    ON PS3
from XMB go to settings>network settings>Internet Connection settings
    Custom>Wired Connection>Auto-Detect>Manual
IP Address: 10.1.1.2, subnet mask 255.255.255.0, default router 10.1.1.0, primary dns 10.1.1.0, secondary dns 10.1.1.10
    Automatic>Do not use>Enable>press X
Then test connection, Obtain IP address should Succeed and Internet connection Fail
    Hit O for back

Now open multiman just leave it alone, but leave it open
(Put Uncharted 3 disc in if havent already)

    BACK ON PC
Open FTP client (FlashFXP or filezilla) and connect with address 10.1.1.2
Once it connects you should be able to see the PS3 folders and your PC folders
Pick the folder dev_bdvd (this is always the folder that is the bluray drive on ps3)
look for the .psracs prolly PS3_GAME/USRDIR
Drag and drop .psarcs over to other side where PC folders are (Drag them to wherever you want them on PC that has enough space)
    thats it.

(It will prolly take a few hours to transfer because these are bigger files plus you're transferring them the slowest way possible on ps3; off a disc drive through FTP)

I used a different tool (blackb0x), but it worked nonehtless. So I copied it all over, extracted and deleted the .psarcs, replace the files from the patch, put it back on the PS3 again... but now I have a totally new problem: it keeps saying that the hdd on my ps3 is full. And I mean: full to the brim. 0kb free space. Even if I delete stuff, it is still full. o_O

EDIT: And the game still freezes. Managed to make some space, although I don't know what caused this strange "free space"-thing. But after deleting some old installs from games I don't play anymore I had some GB free, so I started the game again, tried to open the journal and... the game freezes solid.

The reason you have to extract the .psarcs is because you have to patch the files inside of them to make the game work properly, did you patch the extracted files?
