anyone done a nand dex conversion ???

my cuz is thinking of changing his 3.55 cex to a dex and im looking to see if anyones done a nand conversion as most of the thread are about nor

im guessing its pretty much the same as changing the nor but naming the flash to nandbin instead

so is it more risky or is it cool ????

I have done a few nand conversions now,like you said same way but just make sure you rename nandbin instead of norbin.If you need any help just ask.

cex->dex and dex->cex can be performed with c2d and multiMAN both for NOR and NAND.

Hi... I have a doubt on cex to dex... the general process on the "noob-proof" tuts seems simple enough but they all are NOR-specified.... I have a NAND console, Is the process any different??? I mean (at the risk of redundance), can I:

- dump flash (NAND). With mmOS and get it checked with hex workshop
- dump root key. With eEID_rk_dumper.pkg
- convert flash to dex With cex2dex PC app
- install converted flash Again double-clicking .nandbin on mmOS and install rogero DEX FW.????????

Yes but when u dump the nand plug in USB to USB port closest to bluray drive when you dump the key do not plug in any USB the key will be in devhd temp folder

When you flash the modified nand back make sure you use the controller to switch the ps3 back off and on and not the power button this is VERY important

The file has to end with EID0.NANDBIN so dex.EID0.NANDBIN

After you turn the console on you install the new firmware

I've just converted my NAND FAT and as long as you follow what DeanK and 2die4 have said, you will be fine
