What's so bad about waiting for scene release groups? PC users have been accustomed to this for a LOOOOONGGGGG TIME! I mean we have to wait for scene release groups for the actual ISO releases anyways, so if they include a crack with the ISO like they do in the PC scene, it's not much waiting at all. You simply have to wait for the game to leak. That's it.
Props goes out to both these scene groups.
...and in some cases, it can be vice versa, whereby the game is released into the warez scene, and then the lengthy dick-breaking wait for the fixed files/executables starts from there until it's cracked, and speaking of that, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory (PC) got successfully cracked approximately 14 months after its release (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/StarForce & http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/new...hp?story=24035)!

Ya but in those cases it's because the game developers had a hellacious DRM mixed in. Splinter Cell conviction was another one that took a hell of a long time to crack. Why? Because the game actually downloaded map triggers, etc in realtime from Ubisoft's servers. So skidrow, Razor, etc had to replicate or "emulate" Ubisoft's server calls and feed them to Ubisoft's actual servers in order to get the "full game" downloaded. As they had most of the game data except critical triggers that were required for the game to function. It's hard to explain unless you know how the DRM operates, but Ubisoft created one hell of a DRM nightmare. But it was ultimately fixed.

All I have seen is TB owners played the games 1st then cloners are second and then the people who decided to wait it out are now finally playing games that has been played months ago. Nor E3 or anyone else has been able to get games running for newer titles besides TB. So for teams *claiming* to crack TB just released TB leftovers from older updates. Havent heard from TB in a while but since they are not in action newer eboots are not in action PERIOD. Eboots still revolve around TB. This will benefit no one but for the people who waited... also the 3.60 key leak will benefit no one but the people who waited. Only thing *new* is for the people who didnt buy a dongle... hate to sound like a jerk but what's stopping devs for *proving* that they cracked something just crack an up to date game for once?
EDIT: My guess/theory is that no team really cracked TB they just debugged the current eboots that TB already made... I think I am 98% right if I was wrong like I said in my original post release newer games and not the ones TB already made.
Because people who don't own a TB dongle can't play these games without them being cleansed of the TB DRM first. Therefore Duplex are gonna release all the preexisting cracked games that TB provided first. That way people who haven't been able to enjoy those games can enjoy them. It's common sense bro. The scene is already doing this for games that can be cracked/decrypted using the 3.60 keys that were leaked. you are seeing a crap ton of new game fixes that in some cases were already cracked for TB. But largely weren't.
So considering Duplex has the "keys" to unlock Tb's stuff, they are of course gonna get that back catalog working for CFW users. Then they will focus on new games.
EDIT: Actually some of the games that the 3.60 stuff unlocked were never released by TB IIRC. I believe Resistance 3 was one of them. So was Batman Arkham City. So yes the 3.60 keys do give even TB owners new eboots to play. I may be wrong on the two titles mentioned, but I do know there are some games that the 3.60 keys did give us TB owners that we didn't have previously. I know that for a fact.

You're half right. Resistance 3 and Batman were available by TB via TB disc you had to buy for about ten USD. But never released as eboots by TB themselves.

Ugh - don't even remind me - Assassin's Creed II was the first one that had the notorious Ubisoft always-online DRM if I'm right, and that took longer than Splinter Cell: Conviction, but that was largely due to that DRM approach being "a new thing" to the crackers/DRM approach as a whole.
xPreatorianx re: Goku1992/Duplex
I can't blame Goku for being a tad negative/pessimistic in his reply, especially when this scene has been down the shitters for a very long time, but having said that, I just hope that this scene does continue to improve from here.
Also, you're right for both in the sense that both of these games didn't have EBOOTs released by TB themselves, but the latter had a TB EBOOT that was unofficially released at first.

Ya, I don't even consider TB discs a viable crack release. As you had to pay for them. But cheers for the correction anyways .
@gDrive - I can understand his pessimism as well. I share it too. But considering everything that has happened, I do have hope.

I never bought any of those discs but i still consider it a "crack" as long as its free or much cheaper than the official disc, plus it really is a crack because the Batman eboot that was eventually released was from the TB disc, without the disc we wouldnt of had Batman until the keys were leaked.

I haven't been on here in a while but
@ xPreatorianx
It's the bigger picture I mean when was the last eboot of new games made? I seriously lost count but my thing is when TB stop making newer patches the game process stops as well. People hate to admit it but 90% of the scene is very reliant on TB regardless. Clones, Devs, Supporters, Haters hell you name it everyone is relying on TB for those new patches. If they don't make newer games there is a drought. I don't care about the rumors/speculations/leaks or any of that. Nobody is releasing up to date games except for TB. Honestly E3 been taking atleast 3-5weeks+ on their "solution" and it doesn't take that long to make things "open sourced"
@gDrive
Well the scene is how it is because of the developers going after TB. Actually when nobody was messing with TB things were pretty okay eboots every 2-3weeks they were pretty on point before their product was getting tampered. I'm not really being negative its actually the truth. The scene is in the mess that it is because of the developers who think that they are obligated to do things for free/copy others work instead of finding the solution of themselves. So what do they do? Go after TB and that's the critical error that is leaning towards the scenes demise. At the end of the day TB is the heart of the scene. TB's absence shows it in the scene. No team actually released an "up to date" game without the aid of TB making the game first. If the process was so easy then we would see another E3 "generous free eboot giveaway"
@Everyone else
I hope I don't seem so optimistic about things but how "thankful" can you actually be? These games are last years games that cost a little nothing now. And to be playing games from last year 2011? You would of been better off just buying the dongle and enjoying the games and putting your feelings aside or just going legit. The way things are now I really dont see how cant anyone have another console/dualbooted by now I pirate games too but there is a fine line and the scene drew that line for me a LONG time ago. Not to mention the few games that are released are very online and DLC content heavy (Max Payne 3) you actually need to be online to fully enjoy that game in the first place it's like you lose either way get the game fix but cant fully play it with the updates. Idk maybe I'm just insane

Since TB absence we've seen PSN passphrase from Rebug, CEX-DEX conversion. 3.60 keys, Duplex cracking TB eboots, and anon cracking a couple of "up-to-date" 4.10 PSN demo games(yeah they're only demos BUT they've still been cracked to play on 3.55 without TB help and could be signs of more to come). Besides ReactPSN these things have been of great use to the end-user as ANYONE can make use of the mentioned(well not so much the passphrase anymore). Guess the scene doesnt need a "heart" to continue to thrive, huh.
